I'm getting ready for the Big Chill, which is only a week away now. Me and _draken_ will travel together. I went out and bought a couple of records to familiarize myself with the new material of Coldcut and Plaid. Coldcut's Sound Mirrors hit me as an excellent album on first listen, while Plaid's Greedy Baby needs a bit more attention.

No, this post is not about DJ Food...

Went through some old records lying around our house to see if I could find some nice grooves I could use in my DJing. Came across a few gems:

-A box with 8 records by Herb Alpert sorted by mood (How cheesy isn't that... ;). A few of them had some really nice and mellow grooves I easily can blend into a downtempo mix.

-A bunch of old commercial records from Reader's Digest with some really nice vocal-samples I can use. I will have to glue them to some cardboard to play them, though. They are so thin the needle from my turntable were to heavy for them to rotate under...

-A record titled Aloha Hawaii by The Polynesians loaded with chill sample-material!

Dug out my old discman to listen to my Ulver - Blood Inside disc. (I'm back home without my mp3 library) It feels strange carrying around this huge lump again, though I must say it sounds excellent! How much easier the Nano has made my life...

Just realized how good Sunday 8pm by Faithless is. Came home from work, kicked back on my bed and put the album on. Perfect chillout, and waaaay underrated.
