how'd you like them apples? i totally am now obsessed with The World/Inferno Friendship Society now; i made them my top artist overall in, like, three weeks. that's how good they are. anyone reading this, you have to try them out and experience for yourself how freaking awesome this band is. you shan't regret it.

ok, last.fm is finally almost ok at handling my ipod. took its freaking time. but now i'm reasonably happy, except that some features of the new layout piss me off. that stupid laggy piece of crap flash player is everywhere now, and things therefore take longer to load. however, being quite neurotic about my charts, i am very appreciative of the real-time updating charts now.

did you know, i just lost FIVE HUNDRED PLAYS from my ipod, because the FUCKING OFFICIAL CLIENT HAS AS MUCH IDEA OF WHAT TO DO WITH MY IPOD AS THE UNITED STATES HAS ABOUT IRAQ. WHICH IS NONE. NO IDEA.

i'm going to add up all the scrobbles i've lost to either the official client's incompetence, or the stupid fucking spam filter, which also doesn't know what a portable mp3 player is.

that's like 10% of my total tracks LOST FOREVER because SOMEONE (i'm looking at you, last.fm) uses a fucking SMACKTARDED ALGORITHM for finding plays on ipods.

everyone else is like "oh hey, let's look at the file on the ipod which keeps a record of everything that gets played!"

but that's too SIMPLE and ELEGANT and SENSICAL [sic] for the official client! the official client is all like "why don't i wait for itunes to sync the ipod, THEREBY WIPING ITS LIST OF SONGS PLAYED, and hope that itunes actually updates the play counts of the library accordingly (ed: WHICH IT FUCKING NEVER DOES) and then scan through THE ENTIRE FUCKING MUSIC LIBRARY (ed: which is FOUR THOUSAND FUCKING SONGS, WHICH TAKES A FUCK OF A LONG TIME) and compare the playcounts to the last time i scanned, which i may or may not have COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN TO EITHER DO OR MAKE A RECORD OF DOING! BRILLIANT! TRULY I AM THIS GENERATION'S EINSTEIN, IN COMPUTER FORM!"

after weeks of strenuous, effortful listening to Machinae Supremacy, who are currently (and have been for the past month or so) my absolute favourite metal band of any kind, i've finally managed to knock The Cat Empire off the top of my charts.

the BIFFY CLYRO CONCERT was pure rock! and by rock i mean awesome.

i don't actually know any of the song names (with one notable exception, which i'll get to later), but they played some stuff i recognized off puzzle, and also infinity land. understandably, i didn't recognize some other stuff, because i only have two albums. i'm pretty sure Who's Got A Match? was somewhere near the start.

however!

they played a lot of stuff, but not the song i was waiting for. then they finished, and i was like "OMGWTF!"

then an ENCORE! it was WICKED!
