my little findings. 28.06.2008.

So, June is drawing to a close…1/3 of summer ends…
My holidays have just started…
Session in over…few exams left until September…
But the one thing that always makes me smile is music, 'cause it always has something new to show and to amaze me :)
Lets see what we've got today…

1) Hollywood Undead - "New Album Demos" & "Never Goin' Down".

I found this band in "similar artists" to Brokencyde. And you know, it's similar to Brokencyde as well as Alesana is actually :) The only one thing of similarity between these 2 artists is Rap/hip-hop. No more. Before downloading i wrote that it's hardcore/rap/hip-hop/screamo. And that's what i heard: rap - yes, hip-hop - yes, hardcore - no, screamo - not at all. Sometimes there are some rock/pop-rock elements, but it sounds so primitive…i didn't like. Brokencyde is better anyway ;) Another funny thing is that there are more than a million of listens at Last.fm and this band haven't any album released, only some demos.
Mark - 2/5.

2)A Thousand Times Repent - "Virtue Has Few Friends" (EP) (2007).

Just perfect. Amazing EP. I just can't imagine how greatful will be their album…incredible deathcore with great melodic parts even with clean voice that sounds great. All songs of this EP are wonderful. Crushing deathcore with melodic parts…just hear it.
Mark - 5/5.

3) Mermaid in A Manhole - "Flesh Drapes the Spire" (EP) (2006).

Experimental thing. I don't know actually how to describe their genre, it's a blend of hardcore, metalcore, some alternative rock and something else. But it sounds very interesting. Even vocals sounds in very different ways, not only scream and clean voice. Hear it.
Mark - 5/5.

4) Too Pure To Die - "Confidence And Consequence" (re-issue, 2007).

Well…straightforward hardcore…sometimes goin' into hardcore/punk ways, sometimes - into moshcore. Sounds good, yeah. Catchy. Maybe. But…when you listen to it, you think - it doesn't has anything that can impress you much…good hardcore, nothing else.
Mark - 4/5.

5) The Rumble Strips - "Girls and Weather" (2007).

Very interesting band which musical style is a mixture of indie-rock, indie-pop, some ska and something else. Don't be afraid of this word - ska, it's not like those stupid asses that play fuckin' ska-punk, which i simply hate. No, it's not. It's very positive, light indie-pop that makes you wanna smile and feel good. Nice listening.
Mark - 5/5.

6) Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong - "Where Do You Go?" (EP) (2008).

One more interesting indie-release. Veeeeery nice music. So light, so aerial…really, it's aerial indie-rock. Wanna get their full-lenth album…just don't have any words to describe how wonderful it is, just listen to it and you'll understand all.
Mark - 5/5.

7) Soldiers - "End Of Days" (2007).

Once again. Hardcore. But not so boring, yeah, i would like to say boringm like Too Pure To Die. This one has more hardcore/punk influence, but with groovy, tough breakdowns. As i understood, there are some members of This Is Hell in this band, so make conclusions :)
Mark - 5/5.

8) The Irish Front - "Eating Stuff" (EP) (2006).

Goddan kickass :) Kickass deathcore with funny elements, but first - it's catchy, tough deathcore with cool breakdowns. Well made. For sure.
Mark - 5/5.

9) Of Quiet Walls - "Dopedisco And the Hetero Elephant" (EP) (2007).

Great. One more release from Sharkmen Records that makes me wanna think that this label doesn't has any bad band :) At last, i found this EP, i was searching for it for a loooong time. And i'm not disappointed. It's great. It's very hard to describe their genre, but it doesn't matter, even it's better. It's a mixture of such genres like metalcore, hardcore and some others. Sometimes even goin' into chaotic parts. With great screams. Very catchy. Recommend.
Mark - 5/5.

And i think, that's finish :) I hope you didn't get bored when you were reading this crap :)
Thanx for attention.
