Some scores she had composed for not-anime movies are really lovely, especially "Memories of Tomorrow", "Bizan" and "Seagull". I totally agree with you concerning the fact that "Avatar" sounds a lot like quite a conventional and somewhat "loveless" work - "uninspired" is the word that I come up with most of the time when I listen to something like that. As you said some action tracks are quite nice (although they are structured very simply and seem to aim at the "straight-to-the-face"-effect if you know what I mean), and I enjoyed some romantic cues myself, but those are also not too innovative, unfortunately. I'm not so very much disappointed though, because although I read some VERY exciting articles about it I did not expect it to be too gorgeous. ;)
