Hey babe! If you're interested in some great Dutch post-punk and wave: on http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/No-Future.html you can listen some pretty cool old school albums - only this week though, I guess...

I've got the whole album and I like it rather well. It's more "The Ideal Crash"-ish than the previous two, although they'll probably never will reach that level of greatness again. They're a different band now, but this is one is rather good anyway.

Ah no, sorry, I should have known you wouldn't be hear it in time. The dEUS song was only up for one day, now it's a hiphop track. Then you'll have to wait a while to hear it;)

Bettie Serveert's "Palomine" is great indeed. And Spinvis is too, but on the whole Belgian rockbands are way better than those Dutchies ;) Anyway, I only just got the second Pains of Being Pure at Heart disc. Wow, certainly one of the best indierock albums I've heard lately! Not at all original, but really nice nonetheless.

And if you like Johan, you might give Daryll-Ann and Alamo Race Track a chance, on the same label (Excelsior). And Vengaboys of course : )

Bettie Serveert is my all time favorite Dutch band, (but that's also because I've visited all their concerts when I was young... : )) And the greatest band of the late eighties and early nineties were actually Urban Dance Squad, they even influenced Rage Against The Machine (who became more or less big with the Squad-sound).. A very cool avant garde band is The Ex. In Dutch De Kift is really amazing - like Kaizer's Orchestra, but in Dutch - and longer-lasting... Spinvis is great too, also his absurdistic lyrics...

Cool! Morrissey is playing in Belgium too and that day at the festival he's playing, will be completely vegetarian, at his request. Special? Eh, the last The Kills album is really good. Umm, have you listened to Public Image Ltd yet? They're intruiging, to say the least. Amatorski is a really Belgian band, more melancholic Scandinavian styled. Husky, timid female vocals, sometimes a bit folky, sometimes more Björk/Portishead-ish electronics. Really good, I think. Anyway, keep well!

And I noticed you got to see some great bands at City Slang. I haven't seen Broken Social Scene yet, but Calexico and Yo La Tengo usually manage to put on a good show. Yesterday I saw Swans, who were extremely loud, but quite intruiging.

hey neubauten were quite good last week. now they did play a few older songs, but for an anniversary they still focused a lot on the last record. but anyway they do know how to play a solid show, with all the special percussion installations there's always something interesting happening.
