• Clearing the charts?

    Mai 31 2008, 18h36

While I listen to music on my iTunes basically every day, I haven't been active on last.fm in the longest time. However, looking at my charts is strange for one big reasons: many of the artists that are on my charts, I don't listen to anymore...at all. The Starting Line? Bowling for Soup? Yeah....cleared those off a lonnggg time ago. I've had last.fm for almost 2 years and cleared my charts over a year ago before. While Hannah Montana will still be high on my charts (yeah, whatever, she's awesome), I'm definitely not the same girl I was a year, or 2 girls ago.

I guess this is me moving on musically...or just clearing my charts/getting rid of the feature that scribes songs from iPod (let's not go there.)

  • jess' rent experience!

    Fev 4 2007, 0h53

OK so I've been a "RENTHead" for about...6 months now? My friend Felicia is a fan of the musical too, so when she got tickets for Chankuah, who did she invite? UH..ME.

    Here's the experience~*

Her mom picked me up at 12, took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get into the city. It was entertaining; we bet that we'd start crying during Goodbye Love (more on crying later) We had a slice of pizza, then at 1:55 (THE SHOW STARTED AT 2!) we entered the theater. The whole walk there, me and my frined were singing the songs, includingTocarOne Song Glory.

Our seats were...AMAZING. We stat in row F on the right side of the stage. The show started with Tune Up #1 (Note- I've only heard the movie verison of the songs, so I had a twisted view on them) then to RENT, one of mah favveeess. My first thoughts were- "OMFG I'M SEEING RENT" and "OMFG MARK IS REALLY HOT!) God bless Christopher J. Hanke.

Once again, the only RENT performances I've seen have been the movie. I loved the way Christopher J. Hanke played Mark, but I found myself comparing him to Anthony Rapp. Anthony has an AMAZING voice, and Christopher's was...weak. Now, with Roger (Tim Howar), I was hoping he'd be as hot as Adam Pascal. He kinda looked like (and sounded like) a giant. Esp. in Goodbye Love, he seemed almost scary. And in TocarWhat You Own, my favorite RENT song, he seemed to complete OWN Christopher! I was only listening to his giant grawl the whole time.

Now, I LOOOOOOOVVVED Troy Horne, who played Collins. Now, during TocarSeasons of Love, after the male solo, I started to cry. I COULD FEEL him staring at me and my friend. I was mouthing the words, and clapping along. And wow. It was amazing.

Some things I was muy happy about: I HATED the movie verison of Santa Fe. On stage, it looked so much cooler and I loved the song after that. And the voicemails were hilarous, esp. all the Mark's mother ones.

To make a long journal short, the theater verison of RENT surprassed what I thought it was going to be like. It was x3000 more amazing, and I got a shirt :D. I was going to buy the CD, but it's way to expensive for my liking. Anyone wanna send it?

    Now some pictures!

When my friend and I saw this, she said "OMGAHHHH RENT!!!!"

    Mark and me *blush*

LOL I took that during intermission. I love that picture, but it doesn't look like we were so close. We were LOL

The doors of the theater! How cool is that?!

  • Review- Fall Out Boy "Infinity On High"

    Jan 24 2007, 22h18

LOL so I deleted all my other journals to do these type of journals. What what?

For my first review, I'm doing Infinity On High. I've been a Fall Out Boy fan since Aug. 2005 and to be honest, my expectations were low for this CD. Onto the review:

    1. TocarThriller- WOAH JAY-Z!! I think Patrick's vocals sound INSANE in this track (and the whole C.D.). I personally don't think this is a strong opening track (a good one is TocarOur Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Suedor We Intertwined) 6.8/10 (Jay-Z owns this track)

Every other title. 2.The Take Over, The Break's Over Haha I like the beat. AND I LOVE PATRICK STUMP. I know a lot of people don't like his voice, but I can't get enough of it. I like the constant beat in the back of the song but I dunno about the piano whatever bit. 7.6/10

3.TocarThis Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race- Oh jeez. I remember commenting this song saying "...n'sync, panic! at the disco and cascada had a baby." However, watch the video. I think it's the funniest thing ever. However, the "do do doooooo" thing pisses me off. It doesn't make Fall Out Boy look very good, but it's god damn catchy. 6.0/10

    4. TocarI'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)
Didn't I just listen to this? Until the chorus, it sounds EXCATLY like track 2? I like this song more though; the chorus is catchier and well, it's better. 7.9/10

5.TocarHum HallelujahHum Halleeeellluuujjjaahhhhhhhh. What is with FOB and catchy lyrics this time around? Nice job Wentz and Stump. 7.1/10

    6. TocarGolden LOL at me for almost labeling FOB as Fall Out Boty. Anyway, I LOVE PATRICK'S VOICE. His voice reminds me a lot of Wil from Cartel. His voice just drives me insane LOL. I'm sorry, I kinda like dark Fall Out Boy. I'm sorry, I love it. 8.4/10

7.TocarThnks fr th Mmrs- Haha no vowels. I'm sure that'll take the teenies a while. Easily my favorite on the CD. The lyrics are good (for Fall Out Boy..) and that catchy chorus/harmonies! 8.9/10

8.TocarDon't You Know Who I Think I Am? I love the titles this time around- I rarely call tracks on FUTCT by their real names. Patrick's voice...(sigh). I like this track, but it's kinda every other track after Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner- I don't remember them all by heart. 7.8/10

9.TocarThe (After) Life Of The Party- Woah, wtf with the opening? Eh, it's an alright song. But kuddos for the title Wentz~*- 7.3/10

10.TocarThe Carpal Tunnel Of Love- LOL if I make a band, remind me to name it this. I know this track came out before the leak, but I only heard This Ain't A Scene.. Anyway, I like this song! I sense a bit of TocarXO in this track. AND PLEASE, I WON'T RAVE ABOUT STUMP'S VOICE THE WHOLE REVIEW. 7.9/10

11.TocarBang The Doldrums I like this track for no apparent reason. Maybe I dig songs with repetiveness? Haha, I like the WOAH WOAHHH WOAHHHHHHH's in this better then This Ain't a Scene.. 8.2/10

    12. TocarFame < Infamy Every other title. < This Title. I dunno, maybe this track reminds me a bit of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus? Haha, it's track 12, I'm losing it. The chorus is really the most memorable part for me, sorry2say 6.6/10

    13. TocarYou're Crashing, But You're No Wave- Dance Dance flashbacks? Haha, I really like this song. Normally, I love the chorus' more then the verses, but they both work for me here. And LOL at the little harmony thing at the end. A little choir boyish for me. 7.2/10

14.TocarI've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers LAST TRACK! And the entire is amazing. Hey, Wentz, when you actually release this, please put this first. I love the chours. FOB owns at making chorus' that the teenies will remember. 7.3/10

    Average: 7.5.

Overall, I expected so much less from this CD. I got more then I expected. Just don't listen to it in a row like I just did. My head hurts *turns on Eisley*

    MAH FIRST REVIEW~*
