Right! Yeah, why don't you try out Tightly Unwound. And if not, try 3000 days. Check out my library otherwise, and you will see what i like. Although taste is very personal, of course.

SW solo stuff sounds like it might be a bit like Blackfield then, which to me is just OK. For me, the singing/vocals in a song have equal part with instrumentation. I like PT for the singing, guitar, and I love Gavin Harrison's drumming - the full package. I will be sure to check out Insurgentes. I always buy the DVD-A versions when I can. I have three PT albums in DVD-A, 1 Dream Theater (Systematic Chaos), and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," which is actually a SACD, but it has the same effect.

Thanks, but I was into a lot of cheesy crap for a long time. I had all the Def Leppard albums eventually, I had a Van Halen binge for a while, so I was confused when I started out. But eventually found my way, and now sometimes I enjoy that old crappy stuff, just for nostalgic purposes. Hey, is Steven Wilson's solo stuff any good? How about No-Man? I only know him from PT and Blackfield.

Yeah, i guess frontpage isn't the best tool, but that is what i have on my computer, cannot afford some other program... and i got the course from an institute which my former employer is connected to and which helps me with courses and stuff to increase the possibilities of finding a new job.

Oh, sure, you are welcome to visit anytime ;-) .. Awesome song indeed, that Dream of Stone, i cannot get enough of it. I made it my 33333rd scrobbled track :-D .. Haha, mrs Wilson, yes please, anytime! You are so lucky you still have 2 awesome concerts to look forward to! PT is just the best experience ever, to watch live! I am currently unimployed, or should i say, in between jobs, and i am doing an online course to learn to make a web site with FrontPage. And how about you, what do you do during the days? :-P

Try jumping to Richard's solo in "Open Car", 5:45 minutes, does sound come out the center? Or the beginning of "Buying New Soul"? I think "Arriving Somewhere" is very oddly mixed. I get more sound out of the center channel on my home system than my laptop. That night be post processing done by my receiver. Might be libdts, which VLC uses and other DVD Players (mplayer, xine, etc).

The closest I got under Linux was outputting to the S/PDIF. I've never gotten surround sound to work properly under Linux, mainly because I always had a surround sound audio card that was not fully supported by ALSA yet. I do know you'll have to mess your ALSA configuration. You could look into PulseAudio, that was suppose to be the next big audio system for Linux.
