Yes I am Black or Blasian or whatever.
I do love Japanese music and find the cultures very interesting to say the least.
I am like enthralled by every aspect of Japan from the Goth scene to the traditional old-world styles and culture.
I am still new at it. And although there is a growing bond between Blacks and Japanese,it is still in it's infancy.
But I am so trying to help it grow up into something good.
The bad side of it? Other Black people around me.I'm talking the 'hood and ghetto type of Black people.
This is where I get so much negative playback in my ear.
I deal with it.
But must I be 1 in 1000 in the 'hood to want to see past sterotypes?
I always hear that bullshit line from my brotha's,<i>"Japanese people are like racist Whites. They don't like nigga's."</i>.
I mean WTF?
That's not true at all!
Maybe WWII pushed thhis fear into American's,but how did this happen to Black people?
Last time I checked there was two Japanese in the NAACP as well as Chinese on the board.
Some of us need to let go of the fears.
Sure Japan seemed racist at first if you read the news and so-called tabloids.
But it's safe to never really believe everything you see.
Hey atleast Japan made black dolls and things.
White people for years never did,and when they tried they made them look White in features or light-skinned.
Ha ha. Don't act like you don't know. -_-
Some Blacks would be shocked that there is growing interest to our own Black culture in Japan.
Hip Hop,Ganguru,R&B,guys in cornrows and twist, ect.
The list is growing.
I adore the BLACK TOKYO.COM
And we now have Obama to help bridge the gap. One word, one answer...
