Sobre mim

I enjoy bowling, baseball, music (obviously), sports in general.

Favorite music genres:
Heavy Metal
Progressive Metal
Thrash Metal
Doom/Gothic Metal
Melodic Death Metal
Death Metal
Speed Metal
Black Metal
Grunge
Punk Rock/Hardcore
Progressive Rock
Classic Rock
Hard Rock
Alternative Rock (preferably 90's and 2000's/10's)
Emo/Screamo/Post-Hardcore
...and other random stuff that just happens to pop up. I try to enjoy as much from each genre as I can.

Music I hate:
Most rap. It's almost all drugs, sex, pimpin' their ride, and taking advantage of women. Why people that haven't committed any capital offenses listen to bad rap is beyond me.
Overly twangy country. Though I will say that Brad Paisley and others are wicked guitarists and they can make music.
Modern R&B. It just makes me go to sleep. You want good R&B? Listen to Stevie Wonder or Earth, Wind and Fire.
Any of that manufactured Disney crap. This should be pretty self explanatory.
And this so-called new genre of crunkcore or screamocrunk. Seriously, what the fuck is this? I'd rather hear the sounds of cats being shredded in a blender. These "artists" need to be expelled from the world, for that is the only way to save humanity from this potential next fad. If this is the next fad, I will shoot myself. This makes All Time Low sound like Dream Theater on steroids.

I also despise metalheads who just bitch on others for not being "trve". Who the fuck cares? Just because you listen to Cannibal Corpse, Darkthrone, Obituary, Napalm Death, Amon Amarth, or other more obscure extreme metal bands DOES NOT mean you can't listen to Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, Bright Eyes, Fall Out Boy, or anyone else. Most of these metalheads just listen to a certain genre of music (i.e. pop punk, rap, etc.) and this occurs:

After listening to a band who plays, for example, pop punk, and doesn't like it, decides to discount ALL pop punk as bad. That is just stupid, because in just about every genre there is SOMETHING for everyone to enjoy (at least a little bit). Even worse, some may not even give the genre a chance because they've somehow heard from the metal community that "band X who plays pop punk, band Y who plays pop rock, band Z who plays alternative, etc., should not be listened to because that makes you not true." This is just sad.

These kinds of metalheads are just as bad as fans of pop punk, pop, or rap who criticize extreme metal (or anything else, really) without even listening to it in the first place and having a basis on why they don't like it. Open your minds, people! Give everything a chance, and if you don't like it, then there you go. Don't listen to it. But if you end up liking something that you thought you would hate, then HALLELUJAH! You've found something new to enjoy.

Same goes for musical trend-hoppers. Those who trend-hop listen to a certain genre of music simply because that's what's popular. Then after the trend is over, they simply discard that style of music like a disposable diaper. Really now? If you're a trend hopper, you are worse than the other groups I mentioned earlier, because you have NO musical tastes, you just go with what's popular. If you run into someone who liked nu-metal in 2000 and ask them today in 2011 if they like nu-metal, and they say no because it's not the trend anymore, I urge you to give them a swift kick to the nether region.

I also hate it when people don't know what kind of music something is... they, for a lack of a better term, don't know shit about music. The biggest and most annoying criminal of this are those people who call anything with harsh vocals in it "screamo". I've heard bands such as Between the Buried and Me, All That Remains, Lamb of God, and even Slayer called "screamo". So what is screamo? Well, it is a derivation of emo and hardcore that is essentially a harsher form of emo that incorporates elements of hardcore, post-hardcore and sometimes grindcore. Modern popular "screamo" bands such as Alexisonfire and Alesana are not really screamo, it's the false second wave of screamo. Some examples of screamo bands are Circle Takes the Square, Orchid and pg. 99. But not Slayer. If you're one of those people, please fall off the face of the earth.
