one last thing... (haha, yeah I know I'm overstaying the welcome now)... the whole emo thing is funny to me because while I don't like the "scene" I do like a lot of emo bands because quite often they can be very positive and uplifting when you just need something to sing along to and smile along with... I consider it along the lines of pop music really... but for the sake of it... these emo bands are quite good at getting me to sing along like there's no tomorrow: 1997 - Secret & Whisper - The Black Maria - Emery - Eyes Set To Kill - Saosin... and probably more, but I'm already getting carried away. I hope you can now understand how it's quite the can of worms to be opening when you ask me for recommendations! Have fun listening to things though... hope you find a new sound to get hooked into =) peace.

Between The Buried And Me - namely... well anything really, but their latest album "Colors" or the earlier "Alaska" are a good start - they're a hardcore/metalcore/progressive something type band and have a lot of fast and frantic passages coupled with the obligatory screamy vocals, but there is just as much beauty in their work and quiter passages featuring some completely mind-blowing phrases both musically and lyrically. Every time I listen to them I am astonished at how incredible they are as a band..... however, to get away from the heavier side of life, perhaps something like Team Sleep if you haven't heard them yet - it's a side project featuring Chino Moreno who does vocals in The Deftones - features a lot of nicely chilled drum and bass and beautiful sounds. Also check out Circa Survive or Anthony Green (the singer for Circa Survive) - kind of emo, but very positive and I find them quite uplifting. I think that will do for now... anything in my top 20 I would highly recommend.

recommendations you say? I have a billion of them! If you're thinking along the Mazzy Star line then definitely do Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions (lead singer of Mazzy Star... and pretty much the same, 'cept even more chilled out). However, some other things I think you might get into are: Pain Of Salvation - namely the album "Be" - they're apparently a metal band, but they do concept alums and this one in particular is absolutely stunning - both musically and thematically. Cult Of Luna - namely the track "Echoes" from the album "Salvation" - they're definitely a progressive death metal band, but they have eons worth of wonderful sound scapes amongst the heavy sludge and screaming. to be continued....

Namaste! A new mystical dance is in active preparation! When light-waves move in harmony with sound waves, dancing makes one intuitive to subtle vibrations, and you have to be doing it, in order to be one with it.. In this case, the subtle body movements or specific sensations in which energy is directed through the autonomic nervous system become the "touch of Spirit".. And when the message is received, the body responds with an involuntary movement, a vibration, a feeling.. If you let it flow, it will carry you! When the rhythm of the dancer music is intoned with the sound of the universe and the earth vibration, the mystical dancer has reached its peak.. The dance of life in its beautiful expression creates the question that steers the journey, when the dancer is lost and only the dance remains!

Hello ! I see you're a Portishead fan... :) Radiohead launched a remix contest of their latest single Nude. I've made a Bristol remix of it (home town of Portishead, Massive Attack, Tricky, etc... well you probably know that) You can listen to it here : www.radioheadremix.com/remix/?id=1307 Hope you like it, and don't forget to vote.. support the Bristol sound ! :) Thanks !
