Mai 16 2007, 4h01I have found that last.fm has generally picked neighbors for me that either like my style of music in rock or in rap...but never both. It is really weird that the people who are my #1 neighbors don't listen to key artists like Talib Kweli, Gym Class Heroes, Kanye West, or Juelz Santana. On the other end of the spectrum where people don't match my rock style they are missing artists I like such as The Starting Line, Jack's Mannequin, Something Corporate, Regina Spektor, Kaiser Cheifs, or Tenacious D. I think that I am among a small percentage of people who listens to both rap and rock and so that is what is causing the fragmentation of my neighbors. I wish last.fm gave me people with actually music taste closer to mine in that I like hip-hop as well rock artists all the same.
Mai 12 2007, 14h56Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting number of unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php
My eclectic score is currently62/100
The 62 related artists for my profile are 2Pac (3) 50 Cent (4) A Tribe Called Quest Aaliyah Arctic Monkeys Beastie Boys Black Eyed Peas Black Star Bloc Party Bob Dylan Brand New (2) Brandy Busta Rhymes Cam'ron Cartel (3) Common (2) Copeland D12 Dashboard Confessional Destiny's Child (2) Dr. Dre (2) Eminem Fabolous Fall Out Boy Franz Ferdinand Gorillaz Hellogoodbye (2) Jack's Mannequin (2) Janet Jackson Jay-Z (2) Jim Jones Kanye West (2) Led Zeppelin Lloyd Banks Ludacris (4) Mae (2) Mariah Carey (2) Mos Def (2) Motion City Soundtrack (3) N.W.A Nas (4) Nelly Notorious B.I.G. Mai 9 2007, 4h26Just about 20 minutes ago I was trying to play flash games on addictinggames.com while listening to itunes but the sound from the games made the music hard to hear so looked for some kind of browser muter and I discovered this amazing, free, useful application called FlashMute. You can mute either just the sound from the flash game or from your browser entirely (no more annoying banner game sounds).

Ago 28 2006, 1h31Just a lil' something about the fact that by my record the song Gnarls Barkley Crazy is the first track in a while to be number one (or even on the ten top ten) that wasn't rock. Is this just me?
Jun 19 2006, 0h21I listened to alot of new music last week and my top artists was updated today and I know I listened to at least 20 Black Star and 20 Eric B. and Rakim tracks. None of them even appear in my top 10- overall. Did this happen to anyone else? I'm thinking it probably has something to do with the whole tracks played thing.
Jun 18 2006, 23h55Just a few days ago I had 1100 tracks played and now I only have 700. Wow. This Sucks
