i've been getting back into Jazz…

- John Coltrane is amazing. A Love Supreme and Sun Ship are just perfect examples of good avant garde jazz.

- Charles Mingus was another jazz great. playing bass and piano, really good stuff.

- Pharoah Sanders, Duke Ellington and the great Miles Davis are also fantastic to listen to.

also been getting into some new Hip Hop (well, new to me anyway!)…

- Wordburglar is amazing! really really fun and his new album 'Burglaritus' is funny as hell!

- Genelec & Memphis Reigns are also wicked. excellent emcee's and the beats come across like RZA mixed with DJ Dust from Mars iLL's beats. really good stuff.

- Brother Ali's new album is nothing short of genius. can't wait to get my hands on that shit!

- Busdriver. not so much his solo stuff (haven't properly listened to it yet) but the Live Airplane Food album he did with Daedelus is shit hot. mixing jazz and hip hop. what more could i want!

- Cenospecies. an album P.O.S. did with a few guys out of mini-apples about 5/6 years ago. some really awesome tracks on their that alot of people need to listen to.

also, a load of dance-y indie stuff…

- Klaxons when everyone was going on about them, i instantly thought i wouldn't like them. Nu- rave?? fuck off! but after hearing Atlantis to Interzone in the Black Sh-izzle B-izzle, i was converted! the albums not too shabby, i'll give them that!

- CSS. another one i heard a lot about and not heard anything of. and then i d/l an album because i was bored and was pleasently suprised.

- The Gossip. not really head much of thier stuff yet apart from the Soulwax remix of 'Standing In The Way Of Control', but i have the album and will get past the first two tracks!

and yeah, not in any genre mentioned above, but
RJD2's new album is pretty fun. never been a big RJ fan, but i this is making me boogie!
um, yeah.
