Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting number of unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php

    My eclectic score is currently

    86/100

Thanks to a kind fellow last.fm'er, I'm digging tsbm once again after a long gap. A gap all the way from vinyl to mp3.

And I'm the first person to journal about them. Time for a revival?

Was provoked into starting blogging again, but now I'm not so sure. Just had that realization that one is not close anymore to another. Passed quickly, but did give pause.

Want to include images, audio, video in my blog, and my last.fm data. How can I do that easily?

Another Brick in the Wall Part Two

Why the hell did this come on? My player should be running through New Weird America.

But at the insisting of EA, I am getting with the times. Actually, I was with the times. Then I wasn't. But now I am again. I'm really digging this:

    JV Rocks

Isn't that the lamest thing you've seen for a while?

If you know from whence the title of this post comes from, then all I can say is: "Shame on you!"

Just spent a week hiding from everything. Unfortunately I must emerge to tackle several serious issues in my immediate biosphere, which is suffering from a serious failure to maintain exergy. Yes exergy. I lost a major post on entropy and exergy (and the new google books service), in which I tediously explained how network thermodynamics bolsters my arguments about an "exergetic/entropic hotspot" that I say we are presently experiencing...but more on that later.

Back to my orginal point: exergy is taking over my life, that thing that makes me me, how different I am from a pile of cold hydrogen atoms in deep space ( a definite exergetic lowpoint for being in the world). Right now I'm way too different from said hydrogen atoms, and need to get a little closer to ground. But how??!!

In general, the internet archive is a beautiful thing. But this is especially cool: MSRI lectures online:
