Nice to meet so many Scott Miller fans. I did see the Loud Family live a couple of times, in Manhattan, Hoboken, and one memorable time at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.

Yes... Scott Miller / Loud Family / Game Theory. I bought the Lolita Nation LP back in the day and couldn't stop listening to it. Sadly, I no longer have it but the memories remain... every now and then "The World's Easiest Job" or "We Love You Carol and Alison" or "Andy.." pops into my noggin. Loud Family is delightful and I share 'Gramfan's enthusiasm for "Plants & Birds..." and other LF works.

Yeah I agree with anything Chastain/Menck related. My only regret is that I never saw them live except as part of Matthew Sweet's band. Also dig Scott Miller-never saw GT/Louds either!

Howdy. Nice to talk to another Scott Miller fan. Don't know what it is about his stuff. I heard The Real Sheila on a Boulder station back in 1990, picked up Lolita Nation and was hooked. My favorite album is Loud Family Plant&Birds, but all of his stuff is fascinating. I have to admit my attempts to share my enthusiasm have fallen on mainly deaf ears, so I suppose there's some form of genetic predisposition that has an influence. I'm mainly an alt-country, yallternative type guy, and I play with a bluegrass group, so go figure. Top bands through the years like this...Yardbirds, Byrds, Airplane, Doors, Roxy, Van the Man, Little Feat, Burritos, Steve Earle, Son Volt, so not much paisley underground or what ever. Well, do dig the Dandies and Jonestown. Pic on my avatar is me playing blues harp at a joint in St Louie. Give a shout sometime!

Told me to leave a shout and I don't disappoint. Yes, the way Lucinda pronounces "coffee" on Car Wheels always gets me too. If you're a fan of Velvet Underground I recommend tracking down a cover of All Tomorrow's Parties by June Tabor and the Oysterband. Loads of fun. Cheers.

The studio version of Ant in Alaska is on last year's 15th anniversary release of Exile. Available, well, all over the place.

Nice, I also enjoy Yo La Tengo, New Pornographers, PJ Harvey, The Rolling Stones, Belle and Sebastian, and most likely everything else in your top artists.
