I like your analysis of Cher's Take Me Home as a second rate disco hit, heralding the end of disco. We tend to remember the classics of the period like Chic and Gloria Gaynor and forget the Disco Duck. I know Disco was a distinct period in popular culture but there has always been music we want to dance to, and I think Disco's legacy is that it made Dance music a specific genre.
