Best of the decade 2000-2009

At the beginning of 2010 it is time to look back at the past 10 years in music. I seriously began listening to music around 2000 and while at first i was listening to only a couple of records each year, thanks to the internet and recommendations from various forums and blogs my music collection has grown in ways i certainly couldn't imagine back then. Music has been very important to me and these are the records which formed the soundtrack of my life the past decade. Because i'm a list addict i've also included my favorite tv-shows and movies.

You are mistaken. Only 6 albums in my list are included in Pitchfork's top 200 of the decade. In fact, several albums on this list (like Josh Ritter and Damien Rice) received very low grades from them.

I think it is a quite nice list, I can't tell about Josh Ritter though, 'cause I only know his name but not his music. Takk... higher than Ágætis byrjun? And what about ( )? Where's Interpol's 'Turn On The Bright Lights' or Sufjan Stevens' Illinois'? The list lacks of Muse as well ( I know not everyone likes them). Maybe I should make a list of my fave albums as well.

@ Harry: You should definitely check out Josh Ritter. He is a brilliant songwriter, listen for example to Girl In The War and Kathleen. I also love ( ) and Með Suð but the i like the other two a little bit more. I never listened to Interpol and Illinois almost made it to my top 30. I really dislike Muse, sorry. Too bombastic for my taste. @ Jared: I didn't know if i should take your message serious or not. I often don't agree with p4k especially when it comes to singer-songwriter music. It's hard to explain what makes Funeral so special. It didn't sound like anything else at that time and it still sounds fresh today. There is so much emotional power in the music, it's about death but it is also very joyfull.
