I'll do this for kicks. I used to make weekly entries about what I listened to each week but~ yeah.
    LAST SEVEN DAYSSSS

    1) London Elektricity 76 plays
    2) Cut Chemist Meets Shortkut 46
    3) Underworld 45

Of course LE is number one. Syncopated City came out last Monday! And I loveeeeee it~ so many good songs that it might be all of them! I think it is. Now London Elektricity is added to the list of people ( Underworld, Björk, and Basement Jaxx ) that will not disappoint me with their new music.

I recently discovered Cut Chemist Meets Shortkut on here after being all "Hey, I love Cut Chemist!" and being all "Oooohhhh more collabs with Cut Chemist? I need to check this out now!". So yeah.Live At The Future Primitive Soundsession is lovage.

Underworld. Hmm, I don't know actually.

Oh wow. Now I just realized that the last 7 days thing is...this week? I don't know. Because Underworld just jumped to number 2.

Probably my renewed obsessive listening of Simple Distinctive (Floating World). This needs to go on my iPod. If I can. Oh gezzzzzz I love this song. Like I don't love ANY Underworld songs. Hahaha. But dang. Their ambient music is always interesting to listen to. It's just brilliant.
  • //oblivion with bells. part2

    Out 21 2007, 18h02

Alright. So the day after I got the album, I went to the hospital and stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. Just came home on Friday. So I've been listening to Oblivion With Bells like heck. And yesterday my dad wanted to play it on the stereo. So it sounded fantastic. My dad kept saying Karl is a jerk, which I found amusing. He doesn't like Karl's voice. I've always liked it. Haha but he listened to nearly all of the songs (he skipped "Glam Bucket" since it sounded too boring for him). It was awesome listening to all of the songs on stereo really really blasting loud rather than my earbuds of my iPod nano.

Anywayysss. Warning I may not make sense at times and I might use random poetry to fully convey what I'm thinking.

I've listened to TocarCrocodile ever since the streaming of the track on Pitchfork. I still like it now, but for now I'm kinda not listening to it as much. I love the beginning and the vocals and yeah. Everything. I like how the end fades into TocarBeautiful Burnout and the interesting instruments being used. The greatest part has to be the rolling dark bass. TocarHolding The Moth is definitely the track I looked forward to the most upon seeing the tracklist of this album since I reconized it as lyrics from one of those live-only songs, Globe, that I always loved. I really like how TocarHolding The Moth sounds more refined than Globe and how Karl says the lyrics differently from the past times that he has. The beats, of course, are flipping awesome. The most pleasant surprise has to be the entrance of the piano among other melodies and onward. I find it absolutely beautiful. (I have a weakness of beautiful piano melodies, keep in mind.) TocarTo Heal isn't one of the tracks I listen to all the time. But it's a nice, warm, and ambient song. Relaxing too. Though my mind kept on reverting to way back in the Lemonworld session in May 2006 (or 2005) with the voice sampling of What goes up must come down and the baby voice sampling. I kinda wish they kept that in there. But it's nice without it too. TocarRing Road was the most unexpected thing I heard on this album by far. It sounds way different from anything I heard by Underworld in the past. So at first listen of the song sampling on the Japanese website, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. But now that I listened to the song in full a few times, I really like it. The percussion and the beats make me want to move along with it and Karl's rapping/speaking was interesting as well. I liked rapping along with him. Or...trying to rap along. Funny thing is I reconized yet another thing from the Lemonworld session. That one lyrics that's all ...from the station, a drum... something like that. It had the lyrics you bring back memories I left behind as well. Strange how some things brought me back to that webcast. ANYWAYS. Let's start a new paragraph. This is getting too messy.

TocarGlam Bucket ... geez. This track has not grown on me yet. I listened to the live version before this. So that didn't help at all. Mainly because that version sounded more epic and livelier than the album version. I don't know about this song. I kinda like it, but it hasn't grown into love yet. It's like when I listen to TocarRowla. I mean I do like it, but at one point it gets too much for my ears. Which is why I don't listen to it as much. Strangely TocarGlam Bucket is too ambient or something for me. I don't know. I need to give it some more listens. Lots of more listens.
TocarBoy, Boy, Boy ... I like singing Boy boy boy BOYYYY, wraps his arm around a skinny THINNNNGGGG and such. Very bohemian (what do I know about bohemian things? First word to come to me.) guitar-ing and vibes. And I love when the drums kick in. It makes it more exciting for me. And of course, I like Karl's singing. I especially like the ending when it goes into this ambient melody that is definitely something Underworld. Of course this song sounds very different from their usual as well. So the ambient melody sounded very nice and familar.
Cuddle Bunny vs The Celtic Villages hahaha. Such an amusing title. The song itself sounds very interesting...the texturing of those metallic sounds are really cool to me against the flowing ambient fog. You know what? It reminds me of medieval-ness now that I think of 'metallic' and 'fog'. But I do like this song.
TocarFaxed Invitation ah geez! I swear the way the voice is filtered reminds me of some previous song...! Not on this album or anything. Probably JAL to Tokyo or something. But I really like it. Very very dirty edgy electro...yeah. Also love that fantastic melody in the background evolving with different sounds coming in one by one.
TocarGood Morning Cockerel is another song I love love because of the piano melody. Ahhhhhhhhhhh. It makes me so happy. The calm, simple beauty of this song makes me smile. Lovely lyrics as well, as usual.
And my most favorite song of the entire album: TocarBest Mamgu Ever.
When I first listened to this, I was absolutely in heaven. It struck so many emotions in me. It was unbelieveable.
I still love it today after many more listens than the other songs. I love the piano that sounds like the piano from Pizza for Eggs but at a more euphoric and happy octave or pitch. (I mix up musical terms too. Forgive me for that. Sad excuse for a choir student, I am.) I love love LOVE the glitchy voice of Karl and how it makes its own rhythm. The bass is very wonderful and this song makes me feel alive and happy and wanting to share it with the world. I love how it evolves into the sudden wind of voices along with more sounds coming in. And then hearing Karl's voice sing in full was great as well. I love love LOVE singing along to that. And trying to figure out what he's saying at the same time. It makes me so happy.

So overall, I really like this album. Just more listens of TocarGlam Bucket is necessary to fully love this album. I don't understand why I'm iffy on that song. I really love the live version. MAN! 8D
    But yeah.
Love this album. I can't bring myself to rate it along with the other albums. I like them all equally, since I love all of their songs in different ways. So yeah I can't really say "Oh, Dubnobass... is better than STITI and BF and ADO." and put them in order from what album I love the most. They evolve in sound in each album, no matter who's there. I pretty much listen to their past albums without thinking that Emerson is in there. Which. Is kinda stupidly odd. But I love everything Karl and Rick produce, no matter who else is with them or not with them.

Underworld is my #1 favorite artist ever and I'll always support them and their music no matter what! :>

I did preorder the limited edition and I have recieved it tonight, much to my surprise!
And I've been sick this entire weekend and now. So I so estatic on owning it now.

    I ordered a large-size t-shirt and it looks medium-small to me. It's so odd...!
I haven't listened to the album yet. I'm only ripping it right now so that I can put it onto my iPod and such.
Ah. It's almost done. Perhaps I'll share my opinions once I've listened to it...?

But I am so excited and so happy! I can't wait to listen to it...! I just have to move the files...which I just did now, and I shall listen to it with Winamp.

AHHH YESSSS. <333 Took pictures of album throughout taking off plastic...I'm obsessive like that. This is truely a wonderous memory for me. An upliftment from being sick all weekend long. :>

Gosh I haven't posted a journal entry in ages. I've been drawing two webcomics (technically, webmanga, but whatever) so yeah.

    // january 21st - 28th top artists
    1) Basement Jaxx (166) I've been getting addicted to them since...last week or the week before last week. But now that I have listened to their albums, I am loving them so much...! I can't stop listening to multiple songs from multiple albums repeatedly. I think listening to Everybody on DirtyRadio started this phase.
    2) Underworld (40) Mmmm, gotta love listening to Risingson repeatedly.
    3) The Avalanches (36) Yeah I can't remember what I was listening to them last week.

Haha, I just noticed that Orbital and Basement Jaxx are tied for 3rd place on my Overall Top Artists. This is a bit scary. 8D The last time I payed attention, Basement Jaxx was definitely not right under Orbital. *coughhh*

Right now...Red Alert is definitely addicting. I love singing along to the 'yo's. x) Gosh their music always makes me happy and sing and move. It's such a wonderful thing really.

basically i fell so in love into this song, i decided to type down the lyrics...what i heard anyway. feel free to comment with corrections to phrases and such. or what you think they say anyway.
    ah yes. i kept on singing this song all day long today. i kept on stumbling on lyrics though. time to listen it lots more times...C;

ahhh anyways, here are the lyrics:

    ( the wings there... )**
    (?)**

    is that you?
    is that-
    is that really you?
    to call between my lips.

    two kangaroos
    fingers push
through and scratch my back in rhythm.

    slow foot
    slow fast
waiting for a night to wrap around us
    i could go with them
    get some sweet stuff.

    all these things...
    ( in me )
    all these things...
    ( in me )

    is that you?
    is that-
    is that really you?
    to call between my lips.

    two kangaroos
    fingers push
through and scratch my back in rhythm.

    slow foot
    slow fast
waiting for a night to wrap around us
    i could go with them
    get some sweet stuff.

    all these things...
    ( in me )
    all these things...
    ( in me )

( little ring to hold inside )**
( little ring to hold inside )**
( little ring to hold inside )**
( little ring to hold inside )**

    is that you?
    is that-
    is that really you?
    to call between my lips.

    two kangaroos
    fingers push
through and scratch my back in rhythm.

  • // last thursday was heaven \\

    Out 17 2006, 2h40

the most obvious highlight of last week was thursday, october 12th, when there was a live webcast of Underworld and sven vath. it was mind-blowingly amazing. i listened to the entire thing, well...not the entire thing, for i didn't listen to the first sven vath part. ^^; but yes. i loved it. all 4+ hours of it.
i found out there was a torrent of most of it, so i managed to get the link and such. however, it does not work. at all. it keeps on giving me this error about failing to connect to the tracker and peers and such. so frustrating...especially when i tried more than five times.

    // weekly top artists \\
    1) Underworld (52) hmmm...nothing in particular i was obsessive with. no scratch that...i became increasingly obsessive with live versions of "Born Slippy.NUXX (2003)" (with the piano part)
    2) Junkie XL (50) lots of listening to his (or is it their? i'm slight confused now) newest album Todays. especially repeating Such A Tease and I've Got A Xerox To Copy.
    3) Bjork (33) i definitely love I Miss You. i had some sort of remix before i realized it wasn't the original. it was tagged with just 'I Miss You'. so yeah. not sure what mix it is.

so yeah, what have i been repeating on my iPod lately? (in no particular order)
    1) Born Slippy.NUXX ( live from the benicassm festival )
    2) Such A Tease
    3) I've Got A Xerox To Copy

C: though i have yet to listen to the album all the way through straight. i shall do that someday.

    week of august 27th - september 3rd
    weekly top artists
    1) Underworld (92) ~ Still on top. I love listening to the three Improvisations from the 1995 Leicester set. They make me dance. The first and third ones especially.
    2) Panic! At the Disco (20) ~ For some odd reason, TocarI Write Sins Not Tragedies became infectiously addicting last week. I liked it before, but it became love. Yeah. Scary.
    3) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (18) ~ I found their band name interesting. I remember watching one music video and finding their music decent. So I randomly downloaded an album of their's and I love TocarCat And Mouse. My favorite song of their's so far. C:

Woah, this summer I have gotten:
A Hundred Days Off, Dirty Epic, and Everything, Everything.
Except I got the first two with my own money. My parents payed for Everything, Everything. But it was the CD. But hey, it's better than nothing. Now I just want Dubnobasswithmyheadman, Second Toughest Of The Infants, and Beaucoup Fish. And MAYBE the Everything, Everything DVD. But yeah, really really want those albums. *___* Yeahhhh...someday I'll have them. Though I want to save money right now for Sugar Sugar Rune volume 4, which is coming to the US in October. So yeah, I want to get that. 8D
