http://www.lastfm.es/music/Lana+Del+Rey/Kill+Kill Media is morbid, it's all about finding what brings a person against another. What strikes as wrong. Nobody is surprised by respect, at least not as much as by hate. Of course she dislikes her, I think it's easy to intuit. I don't expect artists to be perfect, if humans weren't flawed, art wouldn't exist. I haven't read it yet but I really liked an excerpt from her book where she says that she finally felt identified with a style of music when she heard no wave; in contrast to punk, it wasn't tongue-in-cheek; it's more subtle & actually more aggressive. It felt like "destroying rock". That taste for teasing links Kim and Lana together, for example. I love & admire both. EVOL is my fave btw x

I love her but I understand what you mean; I know you don't like her but was curious to see your profile since yours was the only comment on Kill Kill, my fave album by her. Great library btw.

I, too, copy/paste a message and attach a number at the end of it! [873] Good job at being stuck 10 years in the past btw.

Yeah, it's definitely the heaviest album i've heard in some time. We didn't do it, I've been so busy with AGOAO. We are training a second guitar player right now, so all of my weekends have been dedicated to that for the past month or so. There are talks of doing it as a new years thing still, though.

Hi, sorry. I am terribly bad at getting back to people in a timely manner. honestly... i stopped listening to NIN after I heard With Teeth. But they for sure hold a special place in my little heart. ;)

Sup, xabsolutefuturex. Your taste is remarkable. Fear Before forever, man. You seem to be located in CO so I'm ridiculously jealous of how much you probably got to chill with Fear Before...and I never got to see them live. :(

ok...onto the other topics...I honestly think ADOM was better than wake/lift, but that's just me. This album took probably 3 listens to sink in but now, it could be my favorite album. Their albums have always had a healing experience when listening, this album does that more than ever. It's heavier and weirder than any of their prior work. Some of the chords and scales on it are SOOO WEIRD! I can't remember which song it is, but one of the tracks on the album literally made me say out loud to a friend, "wow...this is better than anything neurosis has ever done". Altar of Plagues are post-black metal, but not like any of the other bands doing it. I personally don't care for old school, satanic, extreme black metal, but i also don't like Deafheaven at all. I really just appreciate the aggression and emotion in black metal. Listen to Altar of Plagues- Teethed Glory and Injury. I listened to it on acid and it changed me. That sounds silly, but it's true.

These songs mean a lot to each person I have playing with me, so we are trying to do really accurate interpretations. Like i said though, they played the songs different every time. Some of the songs on album have 3 guitar tracks going on at once, yet both times i saw them live were post-Binks, so only one guitar and samples. We will be sampling a lot of the samples, electronics, noise that is on album though. My idea..vision..whatever...is that hopefully for some of my friends that never got to see Fear Before live, they will get at least some idea...or taste of what that band did for me ....fuck...10 some odd years ago. I mean...they literally changed the way i played and listened to music.

Well, trust me when i say this: i am taking this very seriously. Im taking 2 months off from my band to put this together. This is one of my top 5, if not all time, favorite bands. I'm not fucking around with it, i want this to sound good. We've had to consider a few things like what songs we can actually play well; no E-bow, no slide guitar, no overly clean vocals (deer hunter). I already knew how to play half of TAOM so we went with what i knew plus a few. Id love to do that song,. It's my buddy Corey's (hes playing bass) favorite song, it might be a bit too hard this time, though. We already have a solid half hour we are working on. My GF is a professional photographer and will probably film the whole thing. Another thing to consider is that when they played live they NEVER sounded exactly like they did on album. I saw them twice and they played those songs different every time.
