Fun with lyrics!

Set 11 2006, 7h35

13 left: a few pop gems left, a couple Annies, some dancers in the dark, not to mention some indie madness

AND I'm extending more clues. And adding the release year, just for fun -- it seems like 1989 is the stumping year!

A great way to spend time at work. That is if you have a job. And you have time to do this at work. I do. 6. I get home from work and you’re still standing in your dressing gown 7. What got into you got into me too 8. You don’t know me but I’m your brother That gives me kind of a creapy picture in my head. So here's mine anyways: 1: All alone in your pyjamas, writing letter to your grandma 2: Now that the K is in place, Where the C used to be 3: You're like me We're both alone What's the problem I don't know 4: God said don't give me your Tin horn prayers 5: I don't mind whatever happens I don't mind whatever goes around 6: - 7: You don't think that I tried for you? I went into disguise for you. 8: You get the car I'll get the night off 9: Don't you ever go out When was the last time you were out? 10: And if the snow buries my, my neighborhood. 11: There is no dream 12: Wish to do the same and to forget you 13: After that confrontation you left me wringing my cold hands 14: - 15: - 16: Guys like me We don't know how it feels 17: Give me a nutra sweet talking guy 18: I was happy in my harbour When you cut me loose 19: Run devil run Devil run Devil run 20: Where do the dreams of babies go 21: It would be so easy To sing a song about you 22: Left the pain before the dawn 23: And suddenly, I don’t feel fat anymore 24: The end of a love affair 25: She was haunted by the dead but friendly ghosts. 26: Helping the kids out of their coats 27: There’s no sign; there’s no chance we’ll get there on time. 28: Cat’s and dogs are coming down 29: Well you Are you in there? Im stuck outside you 30: There's a ghost in my bed, She cries in her sleep The ones with just - are instrumental songs. It would be fun to make a song and just have these as the lyrics. But I probably won't.

I can't guess any of yours, Eponine, and I can barely remember some of my own! Gah! But yes, it's an interesting as a story, isn't it? I skipped all the instrumentals; I would've only had 17 songs, otherwise!

Yeah it's the same for me. I searched the songs on google to get the lyrics. And I think my list would look alot different if it were'nt for me being at work and therefor had to listen to the radio rather then my collection, even tho the radiostation I choosed only played my songs. Otherwise I would also probably have a lot less songs with lyrics in them What song is The streets are lined with camera crews? I guess I can check it out on google, but I have to ask: What kind of person feels the urge to start a song with The streets are lined with camera crews It's quite a nice way to begin a song. I think. I kind of like I bought a toothbrush as well.

What kind of person? Well, that's the first line of Family Snapshot. And the toothbrush line is from Tempted. Both really good songs, actually!

#6 -- One of my favorite Radiohead songs ever, Black Star. (Gillian Welch's cover is pretty amazing too.) #9 -- Ha! PUFFY's Planet Tokyo! #25 - Earth, Wind & Fire's September

All good, but there's one in there I KNOW you should get. (And yes, Gillian & David's version is awesome!)

Aaaa, so the idea is to guess. I missed the question Can you guess? but when I now read it, the question is quite obvious. Not to hard to understand. I thought it was just about making strange lyrics. Kind of cut up. That's why I just threw in my list. I couldn't guess any of the lyrics anyway. I suck at remembering lyrics or I've never heard the songs. I think it's the first.

No worries, it was fun to think of them all connecting as well. You're just thinking outside the box, that's all!

Exactly, that was what I was doing. You're absolutly right. I'm such an artist. Sooooo open minded.

Number 30 is it's not my birthday by They Might Be Giants. Also, there's a good cover of it done by Seth Timbs of Fluid Ounces on the tribute album hello radio

Is #21 Cheese & Onions by the Rutles? If so, you're so very cool.

Well, there's goes the admittedly obscure one! And as I said, it was completely guessable by the right person! Now you understand why I couldn't extend the lyric on principle....

Here's a clue for someone else: #5 is a Michael Penn song. I haven't been able to remember which one all day, but I can hear him singing it...So run with that, somebody else. I'm about to Google it and thus be disqualified from answering #5. But I will answer this one. I'm surprised I missed this before. But to the Lord, let praises be, number #18 is Lyle Lovett's Church

    Out 13 2006, 3h41
  • soundtrekkie

18 is, of course, Mr. Lovett. And 5 is MP. Keep going! I bet you could get at least one more....
