• farewell my scrobbled songs...

After 21,247 scrobbled songs, I decided to start anew with Last-fm. I actually thought about cancelling my account when CBS bought Last-fm last week, but I have come to realize that I can't escape media conglomerations tracking what I'm doing forever.

I still like all the bands that were in my top 50, but I think it doesn't really represent to what I listen to know. Unless I go on a Smashing Pumpkins binge, I don't think they'll reign supreme as my top band ever again. Plus, I've been listening to more music that I've neglected lately.

On my to-do lists for bands to get into:
    The Decemberists
    New Pornographers (pre-Twin Cinema)
    A Tribe Called Quest
De La Soul (post-Three Feet High)

While The Microphones were one of my most listened to bands, I'm having fun going through and relistening to their catalogue. Phil is a fantastic songwriter, and the production values never cease to amaze me.

I don't have any doubt in my mind that Fugazi and Pavement will race to the top of the charts again, but only time will tell.
