Sobre mim
There are certain times when some sound or note just kind of causes this resonance in your mind - a sudden change in your state of consciousness that it all but impossible to explain. Haunting, altering, and magnificent, music that taps into your mind. You have been in this state before, but you can't tell when. The way it feels is welcoming and personal, but contains a heavy undertone of 'confusional' euphoria - Along with a struggling to contain this feeling in thought or apply it to something tangible. However, efforts of successfully doing so are useless, and even though you may understand that, you realize that this unique form of confusion is what makes the feeling what it is. All this, contained in a few seconds. Unfortunately it is usually transient, and can only be experienced during listening, but this effect is what I seek for in music.
The amazing thing is, the above is just one of many full sensory-integrated music "atmospheres" (i.e. a direct musically influenced altered sate of consciousness). These atmospheres are extremely personal to the listener and therefore are the epitome of a unique experience.
Music affects me on such a deep level I easily get lost in it. It is basically my way of life, and I could not embrace it more. It is amazing, the power of simple sound. Sounds corny, but I mean every word.
