Dude I think i might have mentioned YLT--I got into them huge over the past three years, and just saw them for the second time at cat's cradle. They're unlike anything else and a bottled up record doesn't even do them justice...but my faves are I can hear the heart, may I sing with me and president yo la tengo/new wave hotdogs--although they did a split show--acoustic/electric and the new stuff was really awesome too

nice man, around a year ago, they were all i listened to on my ipod; none of those plays scrobbled, but Jason Lytle is really creative and there is something about his voice I like. On my last trip to schoolkids, I saw the software slump cd in the used section and snatched it right up.

I really liked it but don't have terribly specific comments about it at the moment. It was something I put on in the background of a dinner conversation last night; and it accompanied the conversation oddly well--it seemed that every soaring crescendo of noise coincided with the rather intense parts of conversation, namely the meaning of freedom with regards to reality.

I do have some recommendations; Deerhunter is the hardest act to top though-all that I will recommend have been a close second of sorts, but anyways: ~Deerhunter's Wierd Era Cont.--It came out concurrently with Microcastle and is sort of in between Cryptograms and Microcastle in terms of sound. Calvary Scars II/Aux. Out is incredible imo ~Lotus Plaza's The Floodlight Collective--It's Lockett's solo album, and very much on par with everything deerhunter has done--get it in *.flac if you can ~The Radio Dept.'s Pet Grief and Lesser Matters, both are awesome semi-experimental, ambient-tinged shoegaze ~The Pains of Being Pure at Heart S/T is also some good shoegaze ~Airiel-grab the free downloads on last.fm also ~The Most Serene Republic; they're experimental akin to BSS, but possibly better? and ~Mooncake's Lagrange Points; this is the best post-rock i've heard all year I would have recommended No Age as well....But i'll just wait to see them headline hopscotch in sept.

Oh god dude, Caspian is sooo good. I've really been getting into all this post rock you gave me. Thats how I am, when I get lots of new music, it takes me forever to get into each band. I bet that was a really good show
