Connor has often told me of my lack of last.fm activity, and I think it's time to begin down the path of last.fm-ness.
I've been really enjoying some bluegrass lately, as well as Terry Riley. I guess I've had my own rejection of intellectual-style atonal compositions and sought music that feels. Jason Carter's playing of Luigi Boccherini's three guitar quintets is pretty bad, the liner notes made him sound like a god of sorts. Definitely not recommended. Ana Vidovic's album Guitar Recital is absolutely out of sight. Her interpretation of the Bach Lute Suite, BWV 1006 is definitely a little too fast. Ponce's Sonatina Romantica is full of character, but the star is William Walton's Five Bagatelles, originally written for Julian Bream. Her virtuosity makes the pieces so textural, and she found a real touch for the piece.
