My friend and I sat near the front of the top section, so we didn't have the best visibility ever. But you know what? Totally worth it.
f(x) kicked off the concert, and for what it's worth I think they did what they could to get the crowd excited in the beginning. As could be expected Amber and Krystal did most of the talking.
To be honest I've never really heard Kangta's music before, but he sounded great. He tried a bit of English in his self-introduction. His duet with f(x)'s Sulli was absolutely adorable--both in sound and in use of props.
Next was a huge chunk of SHINee. I'd noticed some really weird-looking girls sitting near us, and go figure they seemed to be Key fans. ಠ_ಠ Anyway SHINee really flailed around a lot, which was endearing in its own way. I don't think Taemin hit any of his higher notes though. Also during their self-introduction, Key's English was actually decent, whereas Onew didn't even try lol.
Super Junior K.R.Y was up next with SORRY, SORRY - Answer. Those three can really sing! Not that this is news to anyone, but it was simply stunning live. Also although I love Eunhyuk, I was very pleased by the omission of the rap segment of this song.
I've never cared for the song My First Kiss but I think that Key and Krystal pulled it off decently. Either Key or one of the backup dancers lost an accessory during the dancing though.
Way Back Into Love ruled. I'm a sucker for Kyuhyun's voice anyday, but a duet, and to a Hugh Grant song? Heaven! It was also really cute at the end when they held hands.
There was a HUGE reaction when Soshi came out. They did Run Devil Run, then a self-introduction talk. As you might expect Tiffany and Jessica did most of the talking. Seohyun had clearly practiced her English bit a lot, but she stumbled a bit and one of the others helped her with it (it was pretty cute). They then did two of their cute, poppy songs.
SuJu came out for Bonamana (unf) and Perfection. I really like the way that they shuffled the lines around to cover for Shiwon and Heechul's parts (though honestly I liked it for all their songs).
SuJu did a quick self-introduction, with varying degrees of English and proficiency thereof. I think Kyuhyun started it off, and then they went down the line until Teukie did one of his long rambling bits in Korean.
I read somewhere that Dancing Out was a remix, but to be honest I didn't notice any different instrumentation.
Finally it was BoA's turn! Despite the puzzling lack of merchandise for her, there was a wonderful crowd reaction. Her English wasn't perfect but it was quite fluent and she said some funny things ("I just noticed my shorts are REALLY short!").
To be entirely honest, I think the remix of Genie sucked. It completely ruined the flow of the song and destroyed its energy. Also the rap was not welcome.
SuJu again with SORRY, SORRY. I don't think they synchronized their choreography as well as they could have, but I was so excited that I didn't really care.
Don't Don was interesting! It wasn't a surprise when Henry popped up with that funny-looking violin of his, but I was pleasantly surprised when Zhou Mi rapped!
I'd read before that Onew had performed Nessun Dorma at the other SMTOWN WORLD TOUR concerts, but it was still a bit of a "WTF?" moment because opera is so different from everything else on show. There was too much screaming to clearly hear him, but from what I could tell he did admirably.
Finally DBSK! The crowd's reaction was positively EXPLOSIVE. The guys came in on wires to an instrumental version of Keep Your Head Down, and it was impressive. Changmin was as adorably soft-spoken as ever in his self-intro.
Lucifer also used the wires, but it got almost absurd toward the end of the song when all five of the boys were lifted up and they were wearing these Wolverine-esque things on their arms which turned out to be laser pointers.
The remix of U was, simply put, an eargasm.
I'm pretty surprised they didn't perform SuJu's No Other or SHINee's Hello. Not much love for the repackaged albums I guess. Oh well. The overall concert was a blast and I wouldn't even mind having to travel again to see them once more.
Oh and SuJu totally did A Man in Love at some point but I can't remember when. :x
