Great festival - apparently had the largest attendance of any Osheaga thus far. Hi-lights in NPO; Palma Violets, Frightened Rabbit, Phoenix, Bob Mould, New Order, Vampire Weekend, Charles Bradley, Breeders, Beck, Father John Misty, Hot Chip.
Was definitely looking forward to this show. He did a good job tackling all the layered and looping requirements of your typical AS track (with only a guitar, harmonica and recording device)…but he slooowed down and extended basically every song. Hooks were deadened. Led to a fairly sleepy vibe in the big church. So not bad for the true believers but a bit gauzy/snoozy for the uninitiated. And even the fans.
