Ohio: it's such a good song, I'm putting it on now, just because I saw your message in my shoutbox! I've only got the best of now, but I used to listen to my Dad's 'After the Goldrush' on vinyl when I was a kid...

I shall join, and thanks for the message. 'Gang of Four' are sort-of late 70s Post-punk, with which I had been listening to a lot last month (having discovered The Fall in addition to my appreciation for Joy Division).

Re. Franz. I forgot Orange Juice, yikes..... although OJ were a tad more commercial (later at least) than Fire Engines and Josef K Co ever were. The influence of Dirk Wears White Sox is audible in places too. There is an uncanny likeness with some of XTC's 'rougher' early numbers :-O The stark difference in listener numbers is quite frightening! 160,000 people need their ears testing :-D)

Not counting there was a whole mess in the telephonic system - which was the solution they found for the selling, due to the previous chaos in supermarket lines for purchase of tickets in the first day. Final tickets, at that high cost, were over in 7 hours. Coexist in the stadium, but most of us were left behind, yep. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to realise that.

Oh, the point was that whilst U2 have been making a lot of claims against global poverty and social deprivation, the price for the Brazilian concert tickets made up around half of the average monthly wage for the typical Brazilian, meaning that a lot of ordinary Brazilian U2 fans were denied the opportunity to see their idols.

Hi, I just read your comment on U2's shoutbox about the ticket prices in Brazil. Can you tell me what was the initial point, since I didn't find a way to access it? thanks.
