... And here's a present for you: this wavegraph shows your top100 artists over 7.5 years. I can see about 4 phases in your history where your artists shifted. What do you think? Any feedback (in group Musicology) is appreciated.

Since you listen to Khmer oldies you may also like reading my article on Cambodian music. http://www.laboratoriummuzycznychfuzji.com/2013/06/labopedia-muzyka-kambodzy-panstwa-w.html If you like it you may also click "lubię to" button to like my website (on the right handside of the page). There's a translation tool in the top right corner.

I saw that you were up late listening to The Passengers at the same time I was. Music doesn't get any better than this after midnight. :-)

Heyo I'm going through my friend list to get the word out about this great new band (Black Valentine) I've come across. They have a bandcamp site http://blackvalentine.bandcamp.com/, and for the moment are giving their music away for FREE. Kind of garage lofi electro pop. Oh and they're from Iceland. Incidentally, I found them through gogoyoko.

hey there... here's an addition to your collection of female vocalists from Southeast Asia. Not sure if it's your thing, but I think it's fun and gorgeous. Free download: http://yesnowave.com/yesno042/ Frau has a page here on last.fm so you can check her out there too.

Not really trying to win--but my iTunes is always running at work, and I've been using last.fm since it was "audioscrobbler". :)

I can appreciate your taste in early to mid nineteenth century Asian pop music because I discovered enka music about a year ago and loved it! I'll have to try and find some of your library's artists and give them a listen.

LoL or if asked ? Hey i would take the first one, hoping i don't have to ask you to recommend, anytime you really like something just throw it at me, your ITK will be a massive help i'm sure. Just found a couple of after dinner albums and i think these are the only two released ? Couldn't find anything haco related at all but maybe i'll search a bit more later. ok i'll be back with a review soon, thx thx.

Hi radiozilla... thanks to you, today I discovered these plug-in things that you can add to your last.fm profile. but i was wondering how you made the Scaicha pie chart work for you. i swear it's not capturing my music history accurately. I tried joining and deleting certain tags, but it fails to capture a lot of the jazz and int'l music I play. when I click on the list of tags that shows the artists, it doesn't even include Charles Mingus! somehow it only includes more mainstream artists. so how did you get yours to be so uniquely tailored to your taste? how come none of the more niche tags appear in my pie chart? are you more active at tagging the music you listen to? (see my most recent lj for more musical nerdology via last.fm)

Wo, Mariah's album that you recommended is FANTASTIC! Post punk, psychedelia, new wave, it has it all and it's soooo japanese! Just what i wanted, going to try and find out more about their stuff, need to find more about old school japanese stuff as well now! lol Checked out AMT as well and it's just what i expected, cosmic endless jamming that you can never get tired of hearing !! Thanks a ton, but beware now that i have even higher expectations, already expecting millions of recommendations lol

Oh, my list is maybe a bit misleading right now, only just getting started here i'll build up really beautiful charts soon, lol. I'm open to all kinds of experimental stuff really, you can recommend me any thing from any genre that you like and i'll listen to it. Thanks for the recommendations and i love 20 min songs, some of the best songs are that long if you think about it, i've heard of the AMT, pscyhe rock yes ? but have never checked em out so this is a good time perhaps, you like the boredoms ? I'll get back to you with the reviews then.

Sobre mim

I listen to music to hear beauty, to be infected, and to sense that which I have never sensed before. I've always appreciated being introduced to new and old-new artists by music lovers with broad taste.

My user pic comes from a documentary called Viva Tonal, the Dance Age (跳舞時代), about Taiwanese-language records from the late 1920s to the 1930s on the Columbia Nippon label in colonial Taiwan, under Japanese rule. This documentary encapsulates some of the thrills I get from music -- witnessing the syncretisms of culture, uncovering lost histories, preserving, as much as possible, the ephemeral human traces of the age which produced it.

You can find me live on air at KALX Berkeley 90.7 FM, where I DJ freeform radio as the Native Disinformant. Current regular showtime is Sunday morning, 0900 ~ 1200 PST. My playlists can be found here.

I am at home in both Taiwan and the US.

Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting number of unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php

My eclectic score is currently

100/100
