1. How did you get into 29? (Fred & Ginger)
I love classic movies, and I love Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and I love their movies. So naturally I had to put some of their songs on my iPod. They’re so much fun!

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? (Aaliyah)
Are You That Somebody? It was a great video.

3. What's your favorite lyric by 33? (Thom Yorke)
From his solo album, probably all of Analyse. The first line rolls off the tongue so well:

A self-fulfulling prophecy of endless possibility

And also maybe Harrowdown Hill. With Radiohead…the list is endless! The lyrics from A Wolf at the Door are so much fun, and are so meaningful with so much subtext…so probably the whole song.

4. How did you get into 49? (Otis Redding)
Watching those old Time Life music informercials at 2 in the morning. Also, I made a CD of his songs for my mom and I ended up loving it too.

5. How many albums by 13 do you own? (Feist)
I don’t get whole albums a lot of the time. I have all of The Reminder, though, and about half of Let It Die.

6. What is your favorite song by 50? (Gregory Isaacs)
Either Private Beach Party or Stranger In Town.

7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? (Bruce Springsteen)
Sad Eyes, maybe. Or Streets of Philadelphia. But mostly the thing I notice with those songs are how pretty they are and how awesome his voice is in them.

8. What is your favorite song by 15? (Eric Clapton)
The unplugged version of Layla, of course. I do love the version with Derek and the Dominos, though.

9. What is your favorite song by 5? (The Beatles)
For a long time it was Let It Be, but now I’m really loving The White Album and currently it’s probably Happiness Is a Warm Gun.

10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? (Amy Winehouse)
I love her music. Me and Mr Jones makes me happy, I guess.

11. What is the worst song by 40? (Dionne Warwick)
Blegh, probably something annoying that the record company made her sing. I only like her classic songs with Burt Bacarach.

12. What is your favorite song by 10? (Tori Amos)
It’s gotta be Sweet the Sting…though I also adore Crucify.

13. What is a good memory you have involving 30? (Leona Lewis)
Not many…if any at all. She’s a pretty new artist and I just started listening to her.

14. What is your favorite song by 38? (Etta James)
At Last…of course, cliché.

15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? (M.I.A.)
Yes…and not just Paper Planes which everyone is currently crapping all over, but I don’t know…so many. M.I.A. is like a formula for happy. 20 Dollar, 10 Dollar, Amazon, Jimmy….all of her music pretty much makes me happy.

16. Is there a song by 25 that makes you sad? (Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong)
No…they make me feel happy and romantic...lol

17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23? (John Williams)
Probably tunes from countless movies that I saw when I was younger…he scored an awful lot of them.

18. What's your favorite lyric by 11? (Lily Allen)
Probably from Littlest Things…so sweet!!

Thom Yorke is so much love. As well as Jonny Greenwood. And Ed O’Brien. Or…well…all of them.

20. Is there a song by 14 that makes you happy? (Audrey Hepburn)
Yes. Definitely Just You Wait from My Fair Lady…she actually sang a lot of this one :P

21. What is a good memory involving 27? (Green Day)
Um, how about me being 7 and liking Dookie, or their resurgence in 2004 when everybody and their mother was listening to them? The American Idiot video was classic. Oh, high school.

22. What is your favorite song by 16? (Mariah Carey)
Maybe Sweetheart…she takes me way back. The first album I ever bought was one of hers. She was so much better back in the day.

America The Beautiful? I heard that was by him. Lol. If not, probably Hit the Road Jack.

Caribou.

To Be Alone With You…so soft and amazing.

The score for North by Northwest. My gateway to classic movies.

Soviet Kitsch!! It rules ALL. I love her SO MUCH.

28. What is you favorite song by 2? (The Smashing Pumpkins)
Thirty-Three, hands down. They have SO MANY good songs though. For Martha might be a close second.

The Crane Wife 3. I liked it so I decided to get into them.

Till It Happens to You…it tells the story of a relationship that has lost its spark so beautifully.

Never, damn it…what a show that would be!

Shooter!! I love Shooter.

33. How did you get into 12? (Fiona Apple)
It was 2004 and I was watching one of those VMA Past Winners Video marathons on MTV2. I saw Criminal, loved the song (not the video), and was hooked.

I don’t know. I only have The Joshua Tree and a few songs from War and Achtung Baby and none of those songs suck.

We Will Rock You. I was 6 and a cheerleader in elementary school. It was our fight song. Lol.

36. What is the first song you ever heard by 48? (Paramore)
crushcrushcrush. I had previously refused to listen to Misery Business. I love them now.

37. How many times have you seen 42 live? (Jann Arden)
Never…and probably never will.

38. What is your favorite song by 36? (Henry Mancini)
Moon River, of course. That was just composed by him, though. Or maybe Lara’s Theme from Doctor Zhivago.

Over The Rainbow. Who’s wasn’t?

As a whole, You Are Free. It’s the only album of hers I think has no misses. Her others might have 2 or 3. My next faves are The Greatest and Moon Pix.

Not happy…maybe complacent would be the best way to describe it. There’s No Home For You Here, anyone???

Black Holes and Revelations…not original at all.

High school. Hanging out and being soothed by Come Away with Me.

Strange Fruit. So beautiful, evocative, and tragic.

Basin Street Blues? She is so the queen of jazz in my heart.
