We seem to have a similar taste in music, so I thought you might like www.lastfm.com/music/dada+dumdums (SIOUXSIE/BAUHAUS-influenced) I recommend HOURGLASS LAND for first listening. Best wishes, yens

Well since you're way into the 'gothier' rocks I think "A Sullen Sky" from their second album Diminuendo might convince you (worked for me!), or maybe "Forever Filthy" and "In Thankful Hands" from Godhead, their third. But then again the first one, Permanent Sleep, and debut ep Rain from 1985 (reissued together), have this grand rawness of melancholy ("A Year Past July", "Wild Swan" etc) that'd be enough to captivate, I'm sure - it kinda reminds me a little of Disintegration actually. Go for San Antorium for something more airy and life-affirming. Also there is of course the comp Eternity Road that spans all their years all they way to their last, almost lost album Gush ("Truth in Needles", "Swell") from 1995. Tho I must say, this was indeed a band that wrote no not-good songs, so go for whatever looks intriguing to you! And sorry about this novel in your shoutbox! ; )

Haha yes....you get plenty of people who went to see loads of bands like that in the 80s several times and I'm just like.....WHY AM I NOT YOU!?!?!?!!? I suppose its enough that the actual music itself still exists and still brings awesomeness....but sometimes I'd give anything to have been there, seeing as music culture (of that kind, anyway) is pretty much dead and has been for quite a long time >_< At least there's still a few people keeping the faith

See, I don't really like arenas.....seeing The Cure could be great but I prefer being able to see the band I went to go and watch! I've only seen one arena gig (Iron Maiden) and that just put me off cause you look over the thousands of heads infront of yours and think...."is that really them?"....smaller venues are so much better, it makes the whole experience worth it. That's why I'd like to have seen the cure in the 80s...*daydreams* and don't worry about flooding my shoutbox, this is a good conversation! I don't often get to chat with people who like this kind of music as much as I do, its a good thing :) x

Sobre mim

"Things to Remember when writing figures of speech and sound
The Power of poetry comes from the ability to defy logic
Defy Logic Often
Use a metaphor and tell us that your lover is the sky.

Tell us that your lover is the sky.

When you do that
We won't believe you,
We won't believe you
Because saying so makes no sense
But we'll see a meaning."

Peter Murphy, "Things to Remember".
