  • Melody A.M. + The Understanding + Junior = The Understanding of A.M. Melody, Jr.

    Ago 22 2009, 6h51

Röyksopp is plain fantastic this year. The earlier release of their third album, Junior, was an ephemeral high and is still very listenable after great abuse from the Touch and pancake-spinners. The high dose of pop, electronic and creativity was quite overwhelming, but the boys always finds a way to transform chaos into a sexual tender caress. From the dramatic TocarRöyksopp Forever, to the sensual TocarTrue To Life, the album reeks of diversity that can fit any listener's tastes.

The album is littered with Sweden's best, from the original Lykke Li, to the sensational Anneli Drecker. Both should definitely return to lend their perfect vocals for Senior. Also, I really want to see two other visionaries from the past two albums return for the fourth album: Erlend Øye; and Chelonis R. Jones. Oh, how I wish for this reunion - I hope Senior can deliver and blow Junior out into space.

But mostly what I really, really wish for is to have Nina Persson lend her vocals for Senior. Oh, what a amazing thing if that were to happen, if all previously said artists were involved, too, but that's just a pipe dream, a perfect album... The Understanding of A.M. Melody, Jr.
  • Most Anticipated Movies for 2009, List of Movies

    Mai 8 2009, 0h51

Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, Ponyo, which opens in select theaters on August 14, 2009, is without a doubt my most anticipated movie to watch for 2009. All of Miyazaki's films are enjoyable, lovable and tend to inspire. Ponyo is an absolute must-see!

My second most anticipated movie for the year would have to be the new Sherlocke Holmes film directed by Guy Ritchie, my favorite director. The film, I bet, will be grand plus entertaining.

And I don't watch enough movies, but I enjoy them plenty. A list of movies I planned to/wanted to/was suggested to watch:

    1. Brokeback Mountain
    2. Candy
    3. I'm Not There
    4. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
    5. Curse of the Golden Flower
    6. Up
    7. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Keepin' it short... been god-forbiddingly obsessed with classical and opera music: Alessandro Safina, Johannes Brahms, and Hayley Westenra. Don't know why, but it's great listening!

So much new music discovered, OMFNEG, I cannot even comprehend, but maybe a little. Where to start... Well, I've been putting Röyksopp on hold for almost a month because I was addicted, heheh, but the end results are "multiple-kicks-in-the-balls" fantastic (that about sums my gigantic enthusiasm for my recent discovery in the world of music). Here's a little list to conclude my babbling: Dimitri from Paris; Gabin; Sunburst Band; Minus 8; The Funky Lowlives; Doctor Rockit; Booka Shade; Nicholas Gunn; Stéphane Pompougnac; Ursula 1000; Kid Loco; Kevin Yost; Bent; Alex Gopher; Mo' Horizons; Miguel Migs; Rinocerose; Jakatta and et cetera.

Don't know about all the fuss on this season's American Idol, but I'm willing to check out Kris Allen's sounds; I hope he sounds good like Michael Johns. The only season I really watched was Season 7, where there was real talent(i.e. Johns and Carlie Smithson), and competition (i.e. David Cook and Archuleta), but that's passed. Is it just me, or is everything that is "7" the best?

I just discovered a new electronic band, Slagsmålsklubben. I found them on the official Röyksopp website. I am so glad because these guys are so good. Ugh, an ephemeral high, for sure! I can't wait to dive into their tracks. Thank you, Röyksopp!
  • Junior, The Understanding, Evolver, Thank You Last.fm

    Mar 18 2009, 17h18

Röyksopp is just amazing this year! Junior days away from release and I'm more than ecstatic! That led me to order The Understanding, too, hahah because I kind of missed that one. And because 49 Percent gives me an erection, hahah! And I also bought the great Evolver, from John Legend, so it is all thanks to Junior! I don't buy albums a lot, so Junior is big for me!

But mostly my days are becoming less bleak. I'm so glad I accidentally found Last.fm years back 'cause then I wouldn't have discovered such creative sounds and the visionist artists that compose them. Sincere thanks to the Heads of Last.fm. I love you guys!
