2008 Top Albums Nominees (Suggestions Welcome)

Dez 1 2008, 0h23

To get ready for my end of the year list that I'll use for my radio show later in December, I thought I'd put together a list of the albums I've got already and ask for suggestions on any essentials I might have missed.

I didn't include Oracular Spectacular cause I thought it was last year. I guess the CD release date makes it 08. That definitely needs to be in there.

For clarity about the Bon Iver album you could consider it to be released this year but it was originally released in '07, early enough that it featured on quite a few best lists. When I make my end of year list I tend to go by first release date but if you were unaware of it last year you could rank it. For this type of thing you set your own rules of course.

Yeah, I was debating what I wanted to do with that. I saw that the Bon Iver album got self-released last year, but it got put out on a label for the first time by Jagjaguwar this year. I think I'm gonna include it, especially since I didn't hear it last year at all.

Yeah what are the rules? J. Tillman's LP Vacilando Territory Blues you can download on Itunes, but it reads release January 20, 2009.
