Overall, not a great year for established artists, few of which came back with albums worthy of any great mention. The notable exception was And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead's "Tao of the Dead", which, though short, was really great. Rival Schools' "Pedals" had a couple of decent tracks, but was generally forgettable, and Radiohead seemed to retreat into left-field experimentation.

My album of the year would probably be Crazy for You. Although it was released in 2010, I didn't hear it until this year. Best newcomer would almost certainly be iamamiwhoami. Still waiting for the near perpetually-unreleased second Fighting With Wire album. Maybe next year.

Standout track? Probably "Wolves", by The Good Natured, especially if you like something you can move your feet to. If there's anything you think I've missed, follow up with some comments!

Until next year,
