Unfinished

1. Francis Poulenc
First Song Heard (FSH): Deploration: Tres calme (at a John Mack Oboe Master class, I was kind of intrigued)
Fell in Love With (FiLW): Hmm, hard to say I was interested right away. But it was probably the the first ( Elegie: Paisiblement) or second movement (Scherzo: Tres anime) of the oboe sonata that won me over. And if it wasn't that, it was definitely the 1st movement of the Trio (Presto: Lent-presto)
Best Song (BS): So hard to choose... I love everything by him but the 1st movement of his clarinet sonata ( Allegro tristemente: Allegretto - tres calme - tempo allegretto) continues to hold my interest without fail (most of his other stuff does too)
Current Favorite (CF):
Most Played (MP): Aubade Concerto Choregraphique - IV Presto- Toilette de Diane

2. Sergei Prokofiev
FSH: That's easy, Peter and the Wolf, I grew up with that.
FiLW: I go through bursts of intense appreciation for Prokofiev and then I forget about him for awhile and rediscover him (I don't plan on forgetting about him this time though)
My first burst of appreciation was I. The Birth of Kije way back in high school...(not just that movement, the whole Suite really)

My 2nd was like 5 years ago with I became obsessed and had to play it, and 5 years later I finally did get to perform it. :)

And my most recent rediscovery was about a year ago with:

And now I'm hopelessly addicted and can't kick the Prokofiev habit.

BS: hmm, everything by him is fabulous but I especially like

3. Frédéric Chopin
FSH: don't remember probably or some mazurka. Random Fact: Chopin (and Tchaikovsky) were acquired tastes for me. I kind of disliked music like that in high school and thought it was too gushy and sentimental. But both of those composers grew on me and now I love music like that too.

FiLW: Random fact: I was only listening to Chopin because someone recommended listening to the Nocturns to help with insomnia. At the time all I could find were midi files, and I fell in love with a Midi version of this piece. I loved the real version so much better though, but still, something really struck me about the piece and I started to like Chopin

5. Françoise Hardy
FSH:

FiLW: Loved her voice and the song was kind of haunting and French sounds so beautiful (though I only understand about half of the lyrics)

BS: I can't choose favorites here, but this is so catchy and I love the piano solo in the beginning, can't get enough of it actually

CF:

MP: same as above (32 times)
