Two Songs In Two Days
Nov 28 2008, 1h38
Just finished writing and demoing down Mokele - Lessons For The Habitual Man so that like all songs, I can remember how the hell it goes before it falls out of my head.

Mokele - Johnston
Ago 20 2008, 20h22
Inspired by watching The Devil and Daniel Johnston there's now 11 songs written for the as yet recorded collection "You Youself are Me Myself and I am in Love".
You can check it out via http://mokele.co.uk/ or by going to the file directly
http://mokele.co.uk/music/Johnston.mp3
Again, it's a completely rough recording just so that I remember how to playing it and how it sounds. Enjoy
With that said, I think about now is time I tried to start getting a band together. I don't think that up for singer-songwriter style one man shows. If you play bass, guitar, or drums, live in London, and are up for it give me a shout. -

2 More
Jul 26 2008, 18h25
Have been able to write 2 more songs for Mokele that I'm pretty pretty happy with. One's call Pouca Farinha, and the other I just wrote a moment ago is You Yourself are Me Myself and I.
That makes 5. I should maybe think about formalising what I'd like to record and get going to Mickey's place to record something solid. I've got plenty of holiday left so will be sorting that out right away.

Mokele - Picking on You
Jul 20 2008, 18h23

Mokele - Picking on You.
It's currently played on an organ, and I didn't want to draw loads of horizontal lines for a proper stave, so drew the keys and wrote 1 underneath for chord 1 and 2 undernearth for the second chord. -
Mokele - In Blood
Jul 13 2008, 18h06
Along with my previous post and some rough starts to songs that haven't picked up too much yet, the song In Blood for Mokele had itself the "rough macbook microphone and garage band" treatment.
Here's an excerpt of the lyrics:
I can't, I can't pick up my soul
it burned in to your heart
my love, my love
It's impossible to know
all the things you know
my love, my love
Sign the dotted line in blood
and drain your heart
fly away and reach the start
a single piece can break apart
internal bleeding of the heart.

Mokele - Do you feel the breeze now?
Jul 10 2008, 22h30
After finishing up a demo for a new Mokele track I've realised that this is definitely one of the things I've been needing to do since getting back from Portugal. The first thing was start driving lessons, which I have indeed started doing. So this is making me feel a whole lot better right now, and I hope it's going to continue.
The track's called We Made Love at present, but I guess it could change, am not sure right now. It's the first introduction of lyrics into any recorded Mokele work, although has only been set in sand stone through this macbook built-in microphone right here, so has a dreadful tired / nasal asthetic. Nothing I'd be sharing around too much right now.
The plan is to get a couple more similar tracks that I'm happy with down like this and then head to my friend Mickey's basement (who's working with Talk To Angels) to flesh them out with some drums and keys. That means way more than single tracked tappy guitars! Possibly no tapping at all I'd imagine. Whenever I pick up a guitar at the moment it always tends to be all clean and slow, and in my head all I hear is some off-beat faster drums over the top to contrast that. If only I could attach something to my brain to somehow record that.
So let's all end it now
Forget all the pockets of sand
an all embracing plan
we made, we made love
It's been 4 1/2 years since SRTIMOT. -
Dillinger / Meshuggah Tour!!
Jun 28 2007, 16h48
I don't think I've looked forward to a gig any more than this. Meshuggah are a band I've been looking forward to coming this way for ages. With Dillinger Escape Plan headlining the show, it's gonna be freaking awesome!

My heart is racing in anticipation.

Icarus line in London again
Mai 12 2007, 2h10
Fri 11 May – The Icarus Line
Man I love this band. It's awesome seeing jeff, joe + alvin playing again over here. I'm not a reviewing kinda guy, not one with words, so all I can say is that I enjoyed this a great deal and you should too.
Another show on the 28th at the old blue last apparently. See you there.
