Couldn't agree more! Admittedly though I need more of their music, i just have a mix of songs from different albums

Dinosaur Jr - Poledo is what got me interested in The Freed Man. Someone told me it was more like Poledo.

Instead of using my headphones and iPod at work, I usually play my library and it has been particularly fond of Sinner Sorry this week.

Well at this point people are really just paying to see the legend. I wouldn't pay 65 euro (price of the concert tonight) to see him. I'm not that much of a fan. And at this point it's not even a question of not being able to duck walk; sometimes he can't hit the right notes or even remember the songs. Then again, in all the recent tour date videos I have seen the crowd has been unbelievably supportive of him.

I'm having a couple of beers, too. Like I posted in the OP on /mu/, I could've seen Chuck Berry tonight for free. A shame that the ticket got sold. I know all about his health at this point, but still. A legend like that is not likely to come to Finland again at this point.

Almost nothing is up. Having a cold drink and listening to some great music. How about in your end?

Thanks for that rec. Btw: If you dig 'early free jazz' I think you should check out Miles Davis' album 'Bootleg Series Vol. 2 Live in Europe 1969'. It's in the /mu/ archive. It's pretty much the closest Miles ever came to free jazz.

I think Albert Ayler is a perfect recommendation for some 'entry-level' free jazz. During 1966, Ayler's band was akin to a New Orleans march band gone... wrong. There are very distinct march/folk melodies in Ayler's free jazz of that time. I think the Lörrach/Paris (1966) album is a very good introduction to Albert Ayler. After that you should check out the complete Live in Greenwich Village.

Sobre mim

Bands I've Seen Live

I used to make random guitar noise by myself. It's okay.

I also played bass in a college band that tried to sound simultaneously like Radiohead and the Strokes, but probably ended up closer to Death Cab. It was occasionally better than okay. We have a demo up for free download here:
