i like Moratorium the most of her work so far, to be honest -- it's less ambitious, sure, but for taking less chances i think it hits its mark way more often than it otherwise would. might be the best japanese album i've heard yet, after Fantasma and...maybe Ai Aso. haven't listened to her Chamomile Pool in a couple years, but i remember liking it a lot.

i'll definitely give it a few more listens, and i can hear how it could be some people's "favorite album ever"...but i don't know. though it's much less dark, i'd say Fantasma is the best Japanese album i've heard in that avant-pop mode. so far, straight up J-Pop award goes to Game, but i'd love to have something unseat it. they're very good, but both that and the Cornelius are still a few notches below greatness for me.
