Say Anything, hellogoodbye, and Young Love.

Fri 16 Nov – Say Anything, Hellogoodbye, Polysics, Young Love

Well, first of all, Polysics did not play. The openers were Young Love. I can say that I had never heard of Young Love before last night, but I was not disappointed. Their songs were catchy and heartfelt. I am planning to pick up their cd.
Say Anything came on next, which was a surprise to me. I thought that they would finish up the show, since they have so much more music than hellogoodbye and Young Love combined. Anyway, they opened up with Belt. They played Woe next, which was great. There was a break in the noise, so I took that as a perfect opportunity to yell out "The Futile"! The Futilehappens to be one of my favorite SA songs. So Max just laughs and says, "Alright guys, we're going to play 'The Futile, The Futile'. " It's safe to say that I flipped out. That's never happened at any shows I've gone to before :]
After "The Futile", they played a few songs off In Defense of the Genre, including Shiska (Girlfriend),Baby Girl, I'm a Blur,People Like You Are the Reason People Like Me Exist,The Church Channel, andSpores. They also played Yellow Cat(Slash)Red Cat, which I honestly am not too fond of. The crowd exploded when they started to play Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too. It was so loud that you couldn't even hear Max singing. It was nearly impossible to stand upright in the crowd; everyone was rocking the boat. When Max began to sing Every Man has A Molly a massive sing along started. Finally, they closed with Alive With The Glory of Love. Needless to say, I was disappointed that they did not play Admit It!!, and that they had such a short set.
The closer was hellogoodbye. They started with All of Your Love which they morphed into Homewrecker. Forrest unfortunately had a headache, which resulted in the audience having to sing several parts for him.Despite his ailment, he did not refrain from making several dirty jokes (eg:" My head hurts so bad, but my dick feels so good!" and "Do you guys want 2 CDS? … yeah, DEEZ NUTS!") and putting on an amazing show. I thought that it would be hard for him to perform, because he has such a unique voice, but he blew me away. I noticed at some high notes he had some trouble, but he did have a headache at the time. They played nearly every track off their new album, Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, plus some of my old favorites, including Call and Returnand All Time Low. The last song they played was Here (In Your Arms). They went off stage for a minute, then came back and played Touchdown Turnaroundas an encore. As far as I know, they didn't play Dear Jamie...Sincerely Me.

Over all, this was an epic concert experience. If you didn't attend this show, you missed out. I got to see two of my favorite bands perform, and I discovered a great new band. This concert definitely gets an A+ in my book.
