Yeah, do tell me what you think of good old, sad Sparklehorse. Fever Ray reminds me of...a toned-down Bjork plus the 80s plus Santogold plus one of the Quin sisters. It's nice. And Conor Oberst fan doesn't begin to describe it ;) I feel like if I met him I'd be severly disappointed because nothing could live up to how much I probably without warrant glorify the guy. And I'm incredibly picky so it takes a lot of..something. Idk. I do have AIM and MSN and am on too often. Dumbdori11 (don't ask) and alexruuska@rock.com, respectively. Hit me up whenever. P.S, very high compatibility!

How's that pronounced, like ahh jaw or..? Well Alyse is a pretty name so eh. And, haha, NSYNC..I'd say the same about New Found Glory and Blink 182, all that elementary school stuff. And wow, to rec a Sparklehorse song or album...Dreamt For Lightyears in the Belly of a Mountain is the best album imo, but the others are legit as well. Some of my favorite songs of the band in general are: (Happy ones): Don't Take My Sunshine Away, Gold Day (Sad ones, and there is a plethora): Apple Bed, Cow, Return to Me, More Yellow Birds, Jack's Obsession...If you ever read Walkingcorpse's stuff she got me into them lol. Do you have any recommendations for me?

Ah, ya lo comprendes. And I believe I understand to some extent your love of T&S although you recognize that they're not necessarily modern Bachs. I find that songs connected to certain memories and/or stages in our lives tend to resonate with us more because of the other non-music related emotions we go through during those times. Especially with people who go to music as a sort of therapy, I think we trust that when we grab our iPods and go on long, contemplative walks the songs will make the journey, and vise-versa. Haha, which SD song were you almost named after? Sparklehorse appeals to me because of my narcissism I guess, lol. I think humans like to feel like they have problems unique to themselves, but truly bond with those who have similar issues. & to me Mark Linkous is one of those people who seems eternally and inescapably sad. And when I get in one of those bad moods, as cliche as it sounds, that speaks to me. Hah, lame & long post

Something like that, yeah. perhaps more specifically the noise the presence of other people creates, like how compliments/criticisms and our reactions to others sort of distort the view of ourselves we've always had, you know? Like I think I am the way I am period and my interactions with others cloud it. Can be good or bad but I guess I only feel "myself" when I'm alone. I think I might like to hear why T&S are your #1. Unless it'd bore you to go into it. Mine would have to be, "in no particular order," Sparklehorse (of course), Bright Eyes, Feist, Simon & Garfunkel & Neutral Milk Hotel. Haha, Sade and Steely Dan stand out a bit in yours. Cool parents?

That's weird, a friend and I were just discussing how the silence and aloneness of night is sort of like the only honesty humans experience imo, but some of the stuff outside of that is the best. So if you had to give 5 bands/artists/whatever to listen to nonstop and be satisfied who would you say yours were?

Yeah, like it could be one of those negative+negative=positive things. Either way I could see it being magical though. I like my Sad Day music. But I woke up to M83 this morning so maybe my opinion isn't legitimate on music mood stuff :)
