teshekur ederim for the friend request :) it's much appreciated!! i'm afraid that we'll still have to communicate in an "irrelevant" language though, since my turkish is not good at all - i don't know about your greek but my turkish can only express simple, small everyday words/expressions... :P i really liked both vids you sent me, even if i don't really know that movie (yes... the truth is that i'm not really into old greek cinema... )... so you seem into greek culture :) it's a pleasure to have met you - let me know if there's something i can do for you (give info or something ^^). i live in Selanik :)) we have no Parthenon here but i'm sure you will appreciate our history :D Selanik is still a beautiful and multi-cultural city ^^ it was voted as "European Youth Capital" for 2014, despite the financial crisis :))

Hey, no problem. Yes I've been to Turkey, I was there for 3 weeks in the year 2000, so quite a long time ago now. I loved it there, Seeing the mediterranean and Greek Islands off your coast line, the great mosques in Istanbul and the strange rock formations of Cappadocia, amazing country and nice people.

Reading your profile blurb it's obvious you can speak/write better English than I, and I've been speaking the language my whole bloody life! Have you always lived in Turkey?

Hi there, it is always nice to discover new music through other people. Great that you discovered Bill Frisell through my collection. I see lots of interesting and intriguing artists in your collection as well. So why not become friends "in sound"? My invitation will follow. Regards from Holland

Yes i was talking about emotional response mostly. But also in terms of complexity for example. I haven't heard the permutatiojn fugue term you are talking about .I have come to aprreciate literally whole Autechre discography. From theii first release Cavity job to their latest. I especially enjoy the first 2 tracks of Confield. But lately I have fallen in love with Untilted. Quaristice is some pretty interesting album too....

Truth is I have some classical music studies, but I regard electronic music higher. It might sound as blasphemy but I believe that clasiccal music is ideal to fuse with electronic/idm/glitch/experimental =P And I really find myself conflicting with people that believe classical music is the most quality music ever and are snobbish towards electronic music of any kind ... ;]

Sobre mim

Fugue: (1) a contrapuntal composition in which a short melody or phrase (the subject) is introduced by one part and successively taken up by others and developed by interweaving the parts.
(2) a loss of awareness of one’s identity, often coupled with flight from one’s usual environment, associated with certain forms of hysteria and epilepsy.

---

I have a penchant for memorizing most of what I listen completely. Once it is over, I experience an inexorable flagging of interest.

Yet Die Kunst Der Fuge completely eludes my memory. If only I would attain a modicum of understanding of Johann Sebastian Bach's Ricercar a 6 from Musicalisches Opfer...

The The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady is ecstatic; The dark psychedelia of Get Up With It is unparalleled; There is a band called Arzachel. Seriously. Listen to it.

A few songs that quite excited me the first time I had heard them:

Come Dancing
Don't Go Plastic
Tonto
Track A- Solo Dancer
Tetra-Sync
Scatterbrain
Surripere
Vic Acid
Clean Innocent Fun
Damn Right, I've Got The Blues
Red China Blues
Machine Gun

By all means, feel free to recommend.

Study Bach: there you will find everything. Johannes Brahms

I had no idea of the historical evolution of the civilized world's music and had not realized that all modern
music owes everything to Bach..
Niccolai Rimsky-Korsakov

Bach is thus a terminal point. Nothing comes from him; everything merely leads to him. Albert Schweitzer

A vide variety of music, including some by Bach, was sent into the far reachs of outer space on the two Voyager Spacecraft in the 1970's. When eminent biologist and author Lewis Thomas was asked what music he would want sent from Earth into outer space, he answered, "I would send the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach." After a pause, he added, "But that would be boasting."
