do you know The Algorithm ? It's a very nice dude from Toulouse, France. He's melting two of the most intersting sub genre that recently appeared. djent + dubstep = Djentstep mon ami !! Oh by the way, I'm the bassist of a band named ZDRI. Soon we'll release 3 tracks we recorded last summer. Let me know if ever you'r interested. Cheers

Never thanked you for reintroducing me to Magma. I found a foreign-language band not in your library: Dogma (the Armanian one), album: ethnic-methnic. (I had to buy from iTunes).

Between The Buried And Me - чумовой гитарно-ориентированный экстрим-прог. Начни с альбома The Great Misdirect или с таких песен, как White Walls или Swim To The Moon.

I wonder if I can find someone willing to attend Opeth here in Perth in December with me. I admit straight out I'm not a fan of their death metal growling stuff; and have only really properly listened to Damnation, Heritage & Blackwater Park because of the SW connection. But they do seem a fairly prominent act to see. We're lucky to get the international acts we do in Perth. A lot acts touring Australia only visit the East coast. (I had to fly 3 hours to Melbourne to see Porcupine Tree last year)

Interesting point you make about the 2 cd album thing. Certainly, it takes a bit of "quality time" to be able to soak in such longer pieces as whole. It's a bit hard working around the house, due to the positioning of my stereo, and as much as I try to block out all of the turkeys at work with my headphones I still am obliged to be interrupted fairly frequently. Driving as I said seems to be my best opportunity. It's also an interesting counterpoint to SW's own stated opinion about the short attention span of a lot of youth today; with mp3s being almost throwaway and the album concept almost faltering for the big record companies. He's almost taken it to the opposite extreme where it takes a bit too much effort to soak in and grasp as a whole. I think there's something to be said for artfully saying something in a 40-80 minute window. The interesting bits of GforD for me at least are too far apart with a bit too much wanktastic filler in-between ;)

In its essential sense there is only one kind of music, which deserves to be named as music, and it is classical music. In addition there partly may be jazz.. Then it goes all "primitive music". Or it should be admitted that definition "music" actually don't have any boarders than of people perception. Actually I'm criticizing this statement: "arrogant talking that wants to be called music". It's rather unclear and could be interpreted as a hasty way of opinion amplification. If a person reckon his activity as making music - it doesn't certainly mean that it's all about his arrogance.

I'm no tellin you how to live, but I criticize your hastily contended with self-confidence assessments on music. Well, supposing it's Moscow State University of International Relationships. Or for a better shot, it could be HSE. Anyhow, just tell if I've guessed correct and I wont bother you any further. Stereotypes could actually make up the real core of each personality world outlook.

the fact of common sense existence. and now it's intriguing me where may such a person study. just for statistics. judging music by the extent of one's understanding is hilarious. so as pretending to have a right to assess whether a music group (or genre) is worth being assumed as music. and let alone showing of.

Sobre mim

^ I don't like that ad!

Easy to influence, hard to convince.

Hello, visitor. In Russia, we say здравствуй when greeting a person, which means you wish them to be healthy. Regardless of the reason why you have come to my page (reasons may vary from sending a friend request to bashing my userpic/music taste/about me section, I wish you to be healthy. Because health is probably the most important thing in our short lives.

I'm a native Russian, but I was born in Astana, Kazakhstan. Now I live in Russia, and it's kinda fun, especially if we don't count bad roads and closed doors/gates/whatever everywhere. I like how the weather changes here throughout the year: the temperature varies from -30 in winter to +40 in summer. It's fun, actually. I like my country, I like the people here (not all of them, of course), I like the air I breathe. I understand my country has some serious problems and I hope people here will soon live better. Something is definitely changing, I can see that. We are changing. Our minds are changing. Our country is changing. And it's amazing, though I'd like things to change much faster.

Some kind of lyrical digression here. Now back to myself. I am:
- a keyboardist/pianist
- a KORG PA-588 owner (and it's a BEAST of an instrument)
- a music theory/rhythm/harmony/melody/structure geek
- a cynic
- an egoist hedonist
- crazy about languages: apart from Russian and English, I speak a little French (though I'm close to forgetting everything), Finnish and Estonian, and I've recently started studying Danish. I'm also trying to learn Welsh, cause I really like the way it looks and sounds. I have even learnt how to sing 'Sosban Fach', a Welsh nonsence folk song.
- a phonetics geek (palatal lateral spirant/fricative for the win!!!)
- much more than just that! find out more here: http://last.fm/user/leechoflife. seriously, just leave me a shout.

Some special thing about me: I don't really understand people who claim that they want their lastfm friends to be 'friends'. I think it's kinda strange. You can't call a person you've never seen a real friend of yours, and the fact that he wrote 'hi' in your shoutbox doesn't make him such. Go outside, get some real friends in real life if you want real friends. It's the internet, everything is strange here. Friends aren't friends, trolls aren't trolls, even cats aren't always cats. Only music remains the same. So, if you send me a friend request, I'll accept it if I consider your charts decent. Even if you didn't say hi. I don't want to have a shitload of friends here, but if you do, it doesn't bother me.

But it would be much more interesting if you had something to say to me, maybe some artist to recommend. I'd like to expand my musical horizons, so don't hesitate to recommend me new music!

I do speak English.

Minä puhun suomea.

Ma räägin eesti keelt.

Jeg kan lidt dansk.

things that I DO really like:

- Russia

- Nordic countries and languages
- Færøerne, Nordkapp, Reykjavik, fjorder, lakritsia, partitiivi, humoncomics, æ, ø, Helsingin Sanomat, Muumipeikko, Nokia og så videre

- Balkans

- pwoper wock and woll
- irregular and strange rhythms (no matter if it's 5/4 or 13/32)
- pure fucking emotion
- concept albums
- HAMMOND ORGAN!
yeah, pretty much like this:

- experiments with instruments, atmosphere, structure, lyrics and so on and so forth
- tolerance (especially if it annoys your opponent trying to provoke you)

things I don't really like or even hate sometimes:

- subcultures
- electronic music that contains one melody/beat repeated thousand times
- arrogant talking that wants to be called music
- primitive music
- communism (surprising, isn't it?)
- over-tolerant people and behaviour
- rusophobia
- fascism and racism
- various clichés such as:
"if you don't like <insert the artist name here>, you just envy them/her/him."
"first do what they/he/she did, then bash them/him/her."
"the world/some particular band used to be better than now". You know, it's just getting repetitive and pathetic. If you don't like the present, don't idealize the past.

Trolls, hipsters, Limberneck and kivancbilgin are welcome now. I need to practise my English. Or maybe even Finnish.
