Yay, the Vaudeville Smash! Any idea if they have plans to release a hard copy of that EP? If they do, I pretty much need it. ;)

I made a special trip to Cactus the day it was released, mid-afternoon, and it was all gone already. They had gotten something like 3 CDs and maybe 5 12"s, I think. As we pulled up, I saw some girl who had apparently just walked out with the last 12", so I JUST missed out. :( I guess as long as I can find a rip of that 12" somewhere, I'll be happy!

Ooh, lotsa DM! I saw the regular edition at Fry's a couple of days ago and sadly passed it up 'cause I really need that 3CD one, especially for those Alan Wilder and Vince Clarke remixes. :)

Oh no, you'll have to let me know which ones are bad. Maybe newer ones have been made available since... I can always check. Pretty sure you can just select an entire playlist in iTunes, c/p to Notepad (I forget if this trick works in Windows but I think it will) and mail it to me or something. Funny you should mention DD, 'cause I was just thinking about ordering that Power Station CD/DVD. I want all of those (I only have Arcadia so far) so I will have to prioritize. ;)

A major milestone!!! I finally reached the 100,000 song mark. It was (They Long to Be) Close to You by the Carpenters. They are my top artist with over 3,000 plays.

You are #2 at 65%. I added a "friends taste chart" to my profile page. You may want to add one to yours as well.

Oh Alphaville's Forever Young is a damn fine album actually. I remember hearing Big In Japan when I was a wee nipper back in England on some early "now that's what I call music 1983/1984" or somesuch album. Loved it. I was 10 and it was my first cassette tape album ;-) Victory Of Love, Summer In Berlin, Big In Japan, Forever Young. Fine songs. Play them loud.

Sobre mim

I host SOUND AWAKE every Tuesday afternoon from 1-3 PM Central on KPFT 90.1 FM, the Houston branch of Pacifica Radio. I've been on the air in one time slot or another since Thanksgiving morning, 1996. You can listen online at My data might give you a little insight into what I spin on SA, but a better-rounded "RIYL" list can be found (along with recent setlists, announcements, etc) on the show's Facebook profile page. I respond to music of all eras and stripes so whoever you are, it's possible we have at least one album in common.

BTW, those weeks you see little activity from me most likely means I'm listening to vinyl or Internet radio.
