Hey Jen, I have been teaching myself easly Sonic Youth - I have to admit the appeal of their late 80s, early 90s albums is too strong for me, I find the earlier stuff too abstract - is that the word? there's still enough noise and ditortion in the mid-period songs, only it all seems a bit more focused to me. Is that fare do you reckon? Feel free to disagree! Art Brut are a sensation, I saw them 2 weeks ago, I have no vinyl of theirs (nore anyone else's to be honest), despite their love of the 7" pop single. Eddie Argos is one of the best front men and band leaders around. Have a nice day, as I believe you American's say...

Hey, cheers for the info, I knew I had some SY reissues I hadn't investigated much, I've found Evol so I'll give it a go, but the earliest I have is Bad Moon Rising. I'm Spotify-ing Confusion is Sex now, feel very ignorant not to have it already!

Hello Jentizzle, thanks for the message, I love Can, I don't know why I didn't join before. I note I am already in your Fall group. There is of course that Sonic Youth video where a pic of Mark E Smith pops up with the word "Thanks", and The Fall had recorded their song to their hero "I Am Damo Suzuki" so everything links up, life is a circle, etcetera... It is on a British TV show called Later With Jools Holland, here is a link to another of the tracks they played this week http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVlveLlgBs8 Personally, I love Sonic Nurse, but Sister and Daydream Nation are two of my favourite albums ever. Dirty is pretty cool too. Enjoy your weekend.

Hey there, I've just joined your Can group, glad someone had the good sense to set one up. I see you listen to a lot of Sonic Youth too, I've just been watching them on British TV playing Teen Age Riot, still brilliant.

nothing natural was actually the song that got me into lush. i saw the video at a mtv show called 120 minutes (which i taped every sunday on vcr) in the early 90s and was hooked immediately. anyway, i'm sorry... can't remember which artist i recommended to you, but i'm sure it was a good one ;-) at the moment i would recommend Volcano the Bear to everyone, because they're marvelous. seriously, give them a try if you can spare a few minutes... worthwhile.
