Oh boe, this has been a great year. Dozens of great albums were released. I'm still working on the "greatest albums of the year" list, but as a foretaste here's a list of the year's greatest songs in my opinion. I tried to add as many different artists as possible, otherwise the list would've been ruled by very few artists like Tenhi and Bert Jansch. This is just a quick list I compiled but the forthcoming album entry will have more substance.
(There's still a bunch of 2006 albums I haven't listened to enough, so the list could change in time.)
20. Sting / Edin Karamazov / John Dowland - Have You Seen the Bright Lily Grow
19. The Zutons - Why Won't You Give Me Your Love
18. Chris Cornell - You Know My Name
17. The Kooks - Ooh La
16. Johnny Cash - If You Could Read My Mind (originally by Gordon Lightfoot)
