See, I've heard Dem Hunger but it never really did much for me. Of course, I got into Wanda Group a while after he'd been around so I'm biased I suppose. Cleaners is my favorite release of his, pretty much. Cool! Xiu Xiu has become an obsession of mine, in many ways. Former Ghosts is good, it's not as noisy or experimental as This Song Is a Mess though, at all. It's more like his post-punk and synthpop influences, very 80s-esque. I enjoy it. Yasmine Kittles from Tearist was involved in it I guess and that made me more interested, I love her work. The Drake remixes, I know! Brilliant stuff. I'm not very into Drake but what they pull out of the music blows my mind, that's exactly the kind of stuff I want to hear more of.

Wow, out of your list of recs there I've only heard Wanda Group & related projects and smoke room. Wanda Group is one of my favorite projects actually, I love everything about his sound and aesthetic, it really sucks me in. I'm gonna check some of this stuff out, for sure. Let me think. Girl Milk. Trabajo. Slow Head. Dead Drums. I've been really into Xiu Xiu lately, which is more well-known, but there's also This Song Is a Mess and So Am I, a somewhat similar but more noise-based project, and I enjoy that. If you enjoy hip-hop, I found this group Underworld Dust Funk or just UDF and they've released two tapes and two solo tapes over the past year or two on bandcamp. All of it's amazing, really dark, industrial-tinged trap production and very nihilistic, violent raps. There's always D/P/I (DJ Purple Image), Ahnnu and related projects and collaborations. I also found this guy Russian Athletics on soundcloud and you'd probably love what he does, it's incredible.

No problem. I'm slowly finding my direction and figuring out how to do things. I appreciate it a lot, really. Any cool little-known things you've found that you really like out there? I like discovering underground artists too.

Same. Just got off a pointless 2 hour work shift that I had to get up early for. You got good taste. I like. Thanks for listening to my stuff too, I really appreciate it. I'm still learning, it's all work in progress to something hopefully bigger and better eventually.

that's awesome about rsm. i've only listened to seven or eight of his albums, which is just a small dent in dude's discography. i think clack! might be my favorite from him. i loved future islands a whole lot last year. i sent their singer an email earlier this year when i read somewhere tat he had a passing interest in african music. i sent him a link to spookcityusa. hahahaha how hard is lucid dreaming? ollie told me a little about it, & i was doing some research into it, but stopped when i moved up here to seattle. i've been good man. just doing the blog, hating work, starting up a tape label, & seeing earth one night & then master musicians of bukkake the next night later this month so pretty psyched about that.
