A Bit About Me
On a personal level, I'm basically an artistic geek. Oldest of five kids. Made enough mistakes in my life to make up for all the perfect people in the world. My youngest brother calls me a "flaming liberal" while my youngest sister calls me a "crazy person who happens to be liberal". My other sister (middle child) actually is a flaming liberal (technically she's an Anthropologist, but you get my drift). My brother closest to me in age doesn't really call me anything anymore... but when we were much younger, we both had plenty of names for each other.
I'm in love with NYC. I could spend a lifetime here and still have more to do, see, hear, touch, taste, smell, etc...
Professionally, I am a Technical Consultant, specializing in voice and data networks. I consult in the greater New York City area, extending to all five boroughs and Long Island. I have designed, built, and managed networks of various sizes, ranging from Enterprise Networks to Service Provider Voice/Data Networks, and Publishing Networks. I'm an OpenSource advocate, with deep roots in Unix/Linux. I'm an accomplished Cisco engineer, who is always happy to be pounding away in the command line or editing 20,000 line configs. Of course I also have certifications for many different systems and platforms to backup my experience.
My experience in the publishing industry, and my personal artistic roots tend to cause me to gravitate back to design from time to time. I always seem to be working on a web project of some kind. Between the webdesign and music, I can usually keep that creative part of me satisified.
I'm also really into hardware hacking and tinkering. I'm always on the lookout for a new project to dive into.

Last(.fm) but not least, MUSIC is a big part of my life. I like listening to a wide variety of artists, as my scrobbling history should show (although my top 8 are pretty similar, I think).
I also really enjoy making music of my own, which someday I might even share on the InterWebs. I have scrobbled my own tracks, and even created an Artist account here on Last.fm -- with the intention of adding my music (with free streaming/download of course!) Be on the lookout for it.
I can't begin to express how much I love Last.fm --- I've found so many great artists through this service. I've been a member since 2005, and constantly discover new music by following reading about and following related artists of the music I scrobble, as well as through friends and contacts scrobbling history. Thank you, Last.fm!!!
