daltonls nice, that's good to know, if i do ever get to see him (with the Jicks OR Pavement, hopefully/preferably the latter) i know i definitely won't be disappointed. his singing hasn't ever been "polished" or like considered to be super great, which isn't at all to say that he sings bad, just more to say that he can use it to accomplish what needs to be done in his sort of songs which don't require any sort of... uhh i'm rambling lmao and that kind of doesn't make sense, but you probably get what i'm saying. but anyway, sleigh bells sounds like it would be a really fun show. i'm pretty sure they were playing here like last year but i couldn't make it. (oh, of course they were here, DUH I FORGOT, we're both near the same concerts) hopefully they'll be back again sometime soon

that sounds great, i'm pretty jealous. can he still sing pretty well live after all these years? i don't think i've seen any live videos of him playing. i haven't been to a whole lot of shows but lighting bolt was my wildest for sure. i loved it. it was my first time in any sort of mosh pit and it was so much fun. i had to leave once or twice to catch my breath and get a drink jesus christ haha. the majority of the dudes in the first two rows were shirtless by the end of their set lmao.

damn i don't get why someone would flake on going to see MALKMUS i mean come on. i can't remember exactly but that was probably the place yeah, two big x's on my hands. i saw Lightning Bolt a long while back in lawrence and halfway through the show, i noticed the mark they put on my hand had totally faded off, thanks to the cramped and chaotic environment. so i could've gotten drinks if i wanted to haha. nahh but i had to drive. but yeah drinking is kind of overrated really. being able to get into shows is a better perk.

both i guess. my car has pretty shitty mpg so just driving there and back (20$) can cost more than actually getting into the show, well if they're not a "bigger name" i mean. man that's lame :/ think you can find a replacement fast enough in time for the concert? i remember Real Estate was playing in lawrence when i was younger and i was kinda excited and then i checked out the venue's site and it was like "lolsry21+" i don't get it lol it's like i saw Cold Cave at some bar place and all they had to do was stamp my hand so bartenders would know not to give me booze. i guess that's one more perk of finally turning 21

oh wow i had no idea malkmus was playing near here! how did i not know that... oh well, i don't have the money for it anyway haha. i need to listen to his post-pavement stuff too. i've listened to Real Emotional Trash a few times but i haven't gotten into it. seeing malkmus play anything would be fun though. i'm about an hour and a half from lawrence, it's where i've seen all but one of my concerts. a whole half of the reason i want to move is to be able to see more shows. so many artists seem to unknowingly neglect the midwest. sigh~

well i wouldn't know personally, i live a bit further west in an even smaller city :/ there are pretty much absolutely no decent concerts unless you count the really awful local bands, which i do not. i have to drive at least an hour out of town to see a good show lol. it sucks but it's always worth it of course. that's a cool way to think of the name. ohh those old classy looking ones with the pump connected to it, that's what i'm thinking of now

hah i should've figured. living in the GOOD half of KC. oh yeah i just started listening to him a couple weeks ago and immediately loved the album. when i came across him, i had no idea what his music sounded like but i thought the name was cool so i checked it out haha. and i'm glad i did, of course.
