Hey!!!!!! Oh my!!!! It's sooo good to hear from you! I've been really worrying about you! It's nice to know that you are fine. It's been more than a year...wow, time flies. I am fine. Nothing really changes. So what actually happened? I'm sure it would be a very long story. I would like to know if you are willing to tell!

In fact I'm going to a concert tomorrow called 'Rooftop Live', which is held on the rooftop of a building in downtown Taipei. http://www.rooftoplive.com.tw There will be 張懸 featuring a Hong Kong artist 盧凱彤 as well as a new band Pia. Yay! Generally tickets for these festivals cost for around NT$1,000. However, some activities are held by the government such as the biggest music festival here 'Hohaiyan Rock Festival' and the one you mentioned, and those festivals take place in public areas so everyone is free to attend. I'm glad to tell you that there are always plenty of music events here (mostly in Taipei) so I think it's safe to assure you that you can find something interesting to go to all around the year! I usually follow 張懸 and other artists through Facebook and some forums. That's how I get all the infos about her!

I wanted to go to one gig of 張懸 in September, but the tickets sold out so fast like hell...I wish i could manage to get the tickets somewhere...

I love the 2nd song as well as its MV. I think the message the clips tried to explain was quite obvious and strong. This song, 玫瑰色的你 (Rose-colored You) is a song dedicated to a person who participated in various social movements here. It was like a song of celebration first, but 張懸 later found out that when the activist was faced with difficulties (such as the government using the flawed justice system to suppress her), the response of the society was shockingly indifferent. The song somehow became kind of sad to her. That's why she asked for an MV like what you've seen now. It aimed to make viewers think about how your indifference, which you consider harmless, may actually do harm to others. I believe this may be near to what you've received. "You saw what you wanted to see, and made it happen. Because of you, I feel like wearing a pair of rose-colored glasses." These were part of the lyrics, which I think best represent the whole song.

US$ 27.98? Wow, why should them cost you so much? I don't know but it seems that it becomes really expensive when trying to by albums overseas...same case here. Yes you can buy the digital album first via iTunes or so. Hope you come here before it is unavailable anymore lol (though I wonder if this will ever happen...). I like that song too! 豔火 means very vivid and colorful fireworks, which 張懸 herself translated it into 'pyrojewel'. The lyrics are about lovers going against all odds, seeing each other as fireworks in the long road of life. I wish I could translate the whole song but I am just unable to do this without harming its poetry essence. However, I believe you can feel the warmth and passion through the song, while it might reflect to 張懸's own state of mind because she is now in relationship hehe. This is her own handwriting of the lyrics. I thought you may like this: http://d.pr/i/aLef

So, are you a polyglot? I can only speak Mandarin and English. That's all, haha. You're right! I think the 'old-film-like' feeling was what the designer wanted to present. I also like 拾荒 the best too! It sounds really special, quite indie. I think the sales of the album is doing well. It peaked important music charts here. The album costs NT$449 here but is actually sold NT$388 in some of our websites. US$16.99 is like about NT$526, but I not quite sure how much does it cost for the shipping. I guess this price isn't too bad. By the way, while the preorder version includes the box set and a bonus demo, I don't think that the version you order now would be the same. But I don't know what it would be like either lol, maybe smaller. 張懸's first MV for the latest single, 豔火, is out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqPhqGu3VCM I really wish you could read the lyrics, it's just so...poetic. She has held two free mini concerts for promotion now, and there might be more!

No...I'm afraid 'hola' is the only Spanish word I know lol! You're right! 林宥嘉 has just released his latest album, and, believe me, you will want to hear it. This album, 大小說家 (which can be directly translated to 'The Great Fictionist'), is an outstanding work! 越反越愛 is one of my favorite in this album. It reminds me of some indie rock bands from north of China (like 万能青年旅店). Also the album box set is specially designed. You can get a glimpse here: http://imcaroline.pixnet.net/blog/post/32112220 I have courses to take this vacation, so...I have only one week of holidays and I'm already back to school now, hehe. There were two typhoons coming at once a couple of weeks ago, and I was really afraid that there would be lots of lots rain and landscapes. Fortunately, the rainfall wasn't as strong as expected. Whew! Another news: 張懸 is going to release her new album, 神的遊戲, on 8/10. I can't wait it!

Hello! While browsing Wheesungs page and comments I happened to read your's from last year about lyrics for a song. I don't know if you found those lyrics but I think I just did. In case you didn't find them, here is the link http://www.jetlyrics.com/viewlyrics.php?id=492278

Hola! It's alright because I am incredibly stuck in my final exams for the past few weeks, and I'm free now! It seems that there are still a few days for you to go, and I'm sure you're gonna survive through it! I didn't go to 林宥嘉's concert. I only watch part of it online. I regretted not going to his concert after watch a few clips lol. It getting really hot here, and there have already been a few typhoons since summer came. The results of Golden Melody Awards have been out last weekend. Too bad those who I love didn't get a single award...sigh.

There will be a live broadcast on our TV channel, but i'm still looking for an online livestream too. The result will be out on 6/23. 林宥嘉 is having a concert this evening, and we can see part of the show on YouTube in you join his Google+ channel and a Google Hangout party later. The concert will start at 7:30 pm here, but I think it may be too early there for you :p How have you been recently? I guess it has started to get cold there?

Haha piece of heaven? Wow your friend really loves it, doesn't she? I remembered while I treated an exchange student from Czech a cup of bubble tea, he felt that it's quite weird have to chew something while drinking, and it's like 'having a meal' lol.

Singing in Taiwanese Hokkien doesn't really reach to smaller group of people here, but maybe it's true with regard to international listeners. Launching a traditional Chinese version may be too much efforts for them since we are such a minor group, and it seems that Last.fm isn't putting emphasis on asia users lol. Hey, do you know anything about our Golden Melody Awards? It's like Grammy Awards for Mandarin singers, the biggest music award throughout the Chinese-speaking area. I'm glad to inform you that 林宥嘉 is nominated the best male singer and the best album, 魏如萱 nominated the best female singer and the best album and Tizzy Bac the best band! I was usually pissed of with the awards' nomination lists. However, the list this year isn't as terrible as it usually was.

I think you're right. I'm not an expert too lol! Yes tags are just tags, music itself is far more important. Haha there are really few active last.fm users in Taiwan! So there are a bunch of Taiwanese bands which have lower than 100 listeners. You know that normal Taiwanese pop songs sound all the same as well, even the structures of the song and the themes are similar from one to another...sometimes listening to the radio may get me really annoyed and I rather give my ears some rest lol. You haven't tasted bubble tea yet? How is it gonna win you over? You know that they are real junk food with astonishing high calories and little nutrition although really tasty...so what's junk food like there?

I have the same feeling about 川秋沙 too! It's not that catchy at first, but it gets better and better. Ha ha, I'm not really sure if it's right to define them a shoe gaze band so I just put it as shoegaze-like lol. INDIEVOX is quite a nice music provider. The prices are low but actually they provide music only in mp3 format (not lossless) so I guess that's why. Lol why? Is it exciting listening to radio stations there? But I guess you're right about bubble tea and night market...I hate not having the ability to resist those delicious junk food lol!

Here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?6ywo949twi17q2i. I didn't expect that you would like 川秋沙 lol! BTW, there is a music website called INDIEVOX (http://www.indievox.com/) which introduces and sells Taiwan indie music. Check it out, I think you may like it (although there isn't an English version)! Yes, I like 林宥嘉 too. He is one of the few mainstream singers that I really love. Haha, you will not want to move here, the music of our radio station is also most boring like crap. I think it's all the same worldwide hehe.

Glad that you're enjoying your internship! You can certainly do well! I have big exams nearly every week this semester, which is really exhausting. I am having one week of short break before another wave of exams...There wasn't much exciting news of music recently here. There were releases from some mainstream pop-singers which I am not really interested in :p However, there are some nice new indie groups which are worth mentioning: "川秋沙(Goosander)" produce shoegaze-like music with lyrics in Taiwanese Hokkien http://youtu.be/5r9fyMOXRHA ; "那我懂你意思了(Then I Know What You Mean)" is also a fun indie band http://youtu.be/Gp6XKEE8B2E. Oh and, 張懸 and 林宥嘉 will hopefully release their new stuff later this year, and 陳綺貞 maybe next year. I'm sooo excited about this! (The SOPA thing is really annoying, I've since lost many sources of music too lol)
