Couleurs...An absolutely spectacular finale to the New York show the other night...a frenzy of beats, lights, and movement. Glad to have experienced a scene like that where everything just comes together for a very perfect moment.

Out 21 2010, 19h22Wed 20 Oct – Phoenix, Daft Punk, Dirty Projectors, Wavves You just couldn't keep Thomas Mars out of the crowd. The lead singer of Phoenix seemed to be everywhere...first shaking hands in the general admission area in front of the stage, then singing from the sound board in the middle of the floor seats, then up in the nosebleed seats, and back in front for a mosh pit appearance. No matter where he was, Thomas was making Phoenix sound very, very good.
Any question about how these French guys would do on the first appearance in New York City's biggest venue were quickly answered as the group went right into Lisztomnania. Playing off a similar song list to other recent Phoenix concerts, the group knocked off most of the current album, while hitting a few off the previous one as well.
The band made the most of its lighting, at one point turning the Garden into a planetarium with stars rotating above. There were also a few references to Close Encounters of The Third Kind, both musically as well as the two guys playing music in space suits.
In all, it was about as much as any true Phoenix fan could have asked for.
