for hanukkah my mom gave me a $50 girft certificate to Lou's Records in Encinitas... basically one of two vinyl-buying options in north county. i attempted to blow it all a day or two after christmas, only to discover how thoroughly picked over the used record selection had become. yesterday there was a little more to work with, and home came...

    Humble Pie
    Slim Slo Slider
    ^^^my virgin vinyl splurge!!!^^^
The Very Best of the Everly Brothers
    Their Greatest Hits

...and then there was another one but i forget what it is right now...

got some stickers and some new paper inner sleeves... thanks for a present i actually wanted mom!
  • a new year's blog

    Jan 5 2007, 19h13

a new year... 1. an end to the previously somewhat horrible year 2. a chance to start fresh? haha. 3. a new reason to be depressed

    I'm drifting and drifting,
Just like a ship out on the sea.
    I'm drifting and drifting,
Just like a ship out on the sea.
    Well I ain't got nobody
In this world to care for me.

people can be blind to what is going on around them. im sure that's an obvious statement, but those who find it obvious are still ignorant of its truth. while you're so involved with how shitty other people are making your life at the moment, don't forget that you are capable of the same influence on those closest to you.

Oh baby, you ain't nothing like you used to be.
(No, don't get me killed, honey!)
Oh baby, you ain't nothing like you used to be.
(Oh man, leave that woman alone!)
When I was deep in love with you,
you were just sweet as an apple on a tree.

okay, so people change. hardly anybody stays the same their whole life... what a pathetic existence that would be... similar to one of those stagnant ponds hidden in the bushes that can only attract green scum and scavengers. yeah thats about right.

i dont even know where im going with this anymore.
    listen to more blues.

and i can use it as i please ;) heh heh...

Over the last year and a half or so of me working here, I've come build up something of an extensive music library on my work computer... and I would have been oh so sad if I couldn't take it with me when I leave my job :( Sure, sure I could have just downloaded iTunes, but i HATE iTunes.

downloaded Sharepod and WMAConvert to my work computer this morning. sharepod lets you take music off your ipod and onto a computer (without fucking up filenames), AND put music from your computer onto your iPod WITHOUT using the dreaded iTunes. WMA convert... obviously converts those pesky WMA format files to MP3s, so that they can get along nicely with your iPod. lovely.

so there. make your iPod your bitch.
