    Don't get me wrong - thought Sam Amidon was excellent in The Only Tune, just his own songs were a bit 'meh'.

    You are absolutely right about the Union Chapel. Superb venue. What did you think of the concert? Kammer Klang were quite hopeless at first I felt, but warmed up a bit. Muhly was just incredible. Wonders (with Helgi Hrafn Jónsson) was the highlight of the evening, although The Only Tune was quite startling live. Didn't really click at all with Sam Amidon's own stuff. Just looked at your profile pic again and realised we were waiting outside at the same time before they opened the doors (I was with my partner). Would have said hello but wasn't sure it was you (and I embarras easily!)

    Thanks for the heads-up about the Nico Muhly concert (never been to the Union Chapel - what's it like?) Also - there are a few Steve Reich concerts coming up in October and next Feb on the South Bank. (In my events, if you're interested).

    Have just listened to 'Kin' by Valgeir Sigurðsson (with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy) and was struck anew by how good a track it is. Perhaps not one for listening to on the cross-trainer...
